First book club meet 🤎

A few last minute cancellations.

So SO many new books, K-Dramas & C-Dramas recommendations.

A mutual frustration with the FMC of the book we read. (GET IT TOGETHER, OLIVE)

Surprisingly & unintentionally assembled all elder sisters. 👯‍♀️

Struggle to decide next month’s book because well, too many books on our TBR!!

Probably scarred the staff everytime someone mentioned their favourite tropes 😂🫢

Got the chance to read and review a fellow poet's work, and honestly, what a lovely experience. Field Notes of the Heart is filled with yearning, introspection, and those little lines that make you pause🥺🫶

I recently had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Field Notes of the Heart by Harman Kaur Sachdeva aka Heer, a collection that feels like a quiet conversation with the many versions of the human heart.

From yearning and belonging to change, courage, loss and the complicated tenderness of human connection, the poems wander through emotions that are often difficult to articulate.

The Right Move didn’t meet my expectations....
IT FUCKING OBLITERATED THEM😭

WHAT. THE. FUCK. WAS. THAT???

Okay, first of all WHY THE FUCK HAVEN’T I READ THIS BOOK BEFORE?!!
Like genuinely. what was I DOING??? How did I exist for this long without reading The Right Move? Because this book had me crying, laughing, screaming, smiling like an idiot, staring at my ceiling, and experiencing approximately every possible human emotion known to mankind😭😭

If Mile high was any indication of Liz Tomforde’s talent, THIS BOOK said “cute, now watch me raise the fucking bar” and proceeded to launch that bar into another dimension-

The standards this book has set???
ON. THE. FUCKING. NINTH. CLOUD.

I don't even know how another fictional man is supposed to reach them now. Ryan Shay has officially made the competition unfair. Because from the FIRST FUCKING PAGE, I was OBSESSED!!

The tropes were done SO fucking right. Best friend’s brother? Sister’s best friend? Grumpy x sunshine? Forced proximity? Two emotionally damaged people who absolutely do NOT want a relationship and then accidentally become the most important person in each other’s lives???
YES. YES. YES. GIVE IT TO ME

And then we have Ryan Shay
Ryan “come home with me, blue” Shay

The man. The myth. The standard🤌🏼
He’s a basketball player, he’s ridiculously attractive, he’s emotionally unavailable for very valid reasons, he has his own history and trauma from a previous relationship, and he has basically decided that relationships are NOT happening again.

And then enters Indy.
INDY
God, I fucking loved her.

And I’m not even exaggerating when I say I fell in love with Indy before I fell in love with Ryan.
She was sweet, sassy, chaotic, insecure, stubborn, flawed and just so unapologetically herself. And I LOVE female characters like that. Give me a woman who isn’t perfectly put together all the time. Give me someone who has insecurities and makes mistakes and says the wrong thing sometimes but still knows who she is.
Indy felt REAL. And i adored her for it🥹
