Last week, we were honored to receive the Community and Economic Impact Award at @mecklenburgcounty and @cltgov’s Crowns of Enterprise Awards! As a nominations-based award, this recognition means so much to our team as it reflects the collective effort of our partners, stakeholders, and community members who continue to invest in the success of University City.

Even more special, University City’s own @cuzzoscuisine also took home the award for Small Business Enterprise Leadership Award.

This marks a big moment for the University City community and we’re grateful for every person making things happen as we move forward.

The best is yet to come!

What if architecture could breathe — saving energy, honoring nature, and still inspiring awe? 🏡🏯🏗️

In my latest conversation with Kristina Held, Charlotte’s first Passive House–certified architect, we explore how sustainable design isn’t just about building greener spaces — it’s about creating timeless ones.🌱

From revitalizing riverfront neighborhoods to reimagining what comfort and efficiency mean in the South, Kristina’s work proves that climate-conscious architecture can be as beautiful as it is bold.

💬 “Architecture is the intersection of art and gravity, spirituality and meaning, and the material world.”

Full interview coming soon — and trust me, this one will make you look at every building differently.🏘️

In a city where glass towers rise faster than oaks can grow, Kristina Held is redefining what it means to build with purpose.

As the visionary behind HELD Architecture, Charlotte’s first Passive House–Certified firm, she’s weaving sustainability, community, and soul into every blueprint. 🏡

From reshaping waterfront skylines to designing homes that breathe, Kristina and her team are proving that architecture can be both innovative and intimate — a love letter to the people and places that make a city thrive.
It’s more than design — it’s a movement toward spaces that heal, connect, and sustain.

And honestly?
The future looks a lot greener (and smarter) with women like her leading the way. For more on passive homes visit @heldarchitecture 🌱🌎
