Quite frankly, I’ve never been more thrilled to say goodbye to a year. Filled with dizzying highs and paralyzing lows, it’s enough to write a well rounded novel. We may have started the year with terrifyingly gargantuan fires all over LA, I may have acquired bacterial pneumonia, gone into sepsis, and almost died, I may have lost some people near and dear to me. HOWEVER, I got to go to Europe 3 times (twice on my own dime), attend multiple premieres and launch parties, and have gained plentiful life experience to apply to the years I have left on this earth. The good, the bad, the ugly… that’s a part of the human experience, my dear. The last slide about sums up the multiple mental breakdowns that occurred.

This hell is better with (all of) you. 😈

My apartment looks like the project runway workroom and I kinda love that tbh.

Costume 1: Matisse shirt (based on The Sheaf), paired with column pants that I had and Matisse mittens (that I made a couple of years ago) for outside, and then also in party mode. This shirt I think might have gotten me to get over my fear of sewing curves…

Costume 2- for whimsey fest I was a rat knight? Or something. The shirt is the hyacinth top by @andrea.gaughan.knits that I finished too late in the season to wear on its own but now I’ll be ready for spring! The rat I knit a few years ago from a pattern called “Rats!”

Costume 3- devil outfit for t4t4t party, matchy matchy with @silasgloria_ in @fridaypatterncompany sport shorts that I sewed. My shirt is the Old Coast Raglan also from Friday Pattern Company but adjusted a bit to have less ease and I added beaded top surgery scars because may as well go all out and it wouldn’t be Halloween without me frantically hand beading something

Welcome to the Summer Lovin’ virtual stage, Zaf Tig @hell_iana 🤩

Zaf Tig (any/all) is making their messy-beautiful, overdue, and official debut (beyond the inside of a car). Nothing juices them up like getting liminal-especially when it comes to authenticity and performance; how do we both hold tight to and let go of agency within the magic of connection, be it intimate, creative, brief, or any other form.

This triple-Sagitarian’s motto is “anything a man can do, I can do it better. Including being handsome af.” Zaf Tig also stays succulent through disability justice, Diaspora Judaism freed from Zionism, practical anarchism in service of collective liberation (in messy praxis!), and finding the balance of serious and silly in all realms.

It is an honor to have this act of self-love witnessed by the gems that make up radically loving and transformative spaces like Soft Power (including you, audience).

***

Join us this Sunday (6/22) on Soft Power TV 📺 for our next Altar Ego virtual & free drag show, Summer Lovin’ 💖 a spell for breaking the curse of love that fuels capitalism.

We have a packed cast with over 14 performers, and most of the folks performing are debuting their drag artistry!

🔗 you know where to RSVP & join us!

Words on our Measure for Measure by @cherryandspoon and @thestagesofmn, images of our dress rehearsal at @elisionplayhouse by the marvelous @emilygarstphoto.

We will make our necessary return to humility when Give to the Max has concluded, but right now we are so proud of our brazenly tender, blazingly intimate, brave and silly play — and all of the art we’ve made since our birth in the darkness of autumn 2020. We want your attention, support, and any funds you can offer tonight and tomorrow. We want to be around for years to come.

Link to donate in our bio.

Thank you thank you! 🤍
