Boy mum wishlist 💙

A few things on my radar for little boys arrival, from little outfits and cool bottles to personalised keepsakes, pram accessories and independent brands I’ve come across along the way.

A mix of practical finds and lovely little extras for anyone getting ready for a baby boy.

Save for later 🤍

The Paynter Jacket, a very special project for my guy’s 40th. The brief was French chore coat / workwear.

I loved making this collab between @merchantandmills and @paynterjacket, which is Paynter’s classic Field Jacket. There’s a great blog that details the R&D:

Size S in organic sanded twill in Prussian Blue, also by M&M, sourced from @weftandwarpfabrics.

Paynter jackets are small batch and sell out, so it’s pretty cool having the opportunity to create your own.

Super functional with pockets for everything!

Very proud of the gusseted pocket with mitred corners. M&M has a useful YouTube tutorial on this step.

He wears it well 😍

Hanging loop added and a custom label included with the paper pattern.

I cut a 9cm x 4cm piece for the loop and folded it in like the bias tape process.

🌚🌞 The gorgeous moon and sun label by @hello.ludio is incentive enough to re-purchase the paper pattern for future makes.

The design represents time and getting lost in the practice of making. Magical 😍

I traced the pattern using Swedish tracing paper, also from @weftandwarpfabrics.

You can sew the paper together to tissue-fit and test the size.

Corozo buttons are by meetMILK, sourced from @patternscissorsfrock. Thrilled with the colour match (Lapis) and that they’re plant-based. Corozo seeds can only be collected when they fall naturally from the tree to be ripe enough for button production! No deforestation required.

Jacket worn open.

Hand warmers.

Top stitching on under collar to match the Paynter red, inspired by @becksinbits’s project I saw on Threadloop.

Side view.

Elbow patch and waist tab details.

Added spare buttons behind the waist tab reinforcement for future-proofing.

Basting the hidden placket.

Buttoning up.

Fully buttoned.

Happy jacket owner. He’s had friends asking about it and wanting to try it on 🙌🏼
