You can block the view but I’ll make my own runway. Was doing a daily outfit check for @henne.made pop up over the weekend and someone was in the way. 🤣 No way was I going to let the Coromandel kebaya and matching skirt go to waste, so I made the hotel entrance my runway. I think the outfit deserved it! 😜

Wanted to make a long sleeved version of @henne.made Tartan patterned kebaya kutubaru and ended up with the wrong fabric. Discovered this a day before my website launch so I was definitely sweating buckets of anxiety and stress. 😓😓😓 What do I do now? Any brand owners who went through something similar? Would appreciate any advice! 🫶🏼

A casual lunch, styled my way. For me, personal style has never been about dressing perfectly or following every trend. It has always been about being authentically you and allowing your clothes to reflect the little things that make you, well… you. I love adding a touch of quirkiness to even the most everyday looks. Sometimes it’s an unexpected accessory, an interesting texture, a vintage find or simply putting pieces together in a way that feels instinctively mine. Those little details have always been an extension of my personal style. I’m also drawn to labels with a story pieces where I can discover the craft, the thought and the personality behind the brand, and then narrate a little of that story through the way I wear them. Because I believe style should feel personal, not prescribed. It should have personality, a sense of discovery and, most importantly, feel like an authentic extension of who you are. And this philosophy is something I’ve been exploring even more deeply over the past few months. After years of sharing my own style journey, I’ve recently completed my Certified Personal Stylist course a little milestone that feels like a natural next chapter in something I’ve loved for a very long time. So here’s to everyday dressing, finding your own style language and never being afraid to add a little quirk along the way. Even when it’s just lunch.

This weekend, we’re hosting our friends from across the causeway, @henne.made. Inspired and known for their Heritage Textile Series, Henne Made produces everyday breathable pieces, designed after traditional silhouettes (think kebaya, think kain pelikat!) while keeping its supply chain entirely ran by women. Pieces are limited as each design is made with deadstock fabric so once its gone, its gone forever. Drop by, ask Henne Made’s founder and resident creative @dahliamohd questions about the historic trail the kain pelikat has left, and leave with a fuller mind and a wardrobe of one off pieces. Hi 👋🏼 This is a big sis reminder that you are never too old to start. How? Lean into what you know best and what fuels you. After all, if it doesn’t fulfill you or bring you joy, why do it? I have been in fashion retail for 10 years and worked closely with brand owners. Along the way, I have also learnt so much and along the way, refined what my own personal style is: Fusing heritage with modern dressing. I also lean alot into colours and prints as I find it really are therapeutic to put mix and match them together. Early this year, I started Henne Made. It’s simply “dopamine heritage dressing” for the everyday woman. Something that says something about our shared heritage, cultures and aspirations. Curious?
