If Cataract Falls has been showing up on your Instagram feed, consider this your sign to go. 🌿 Huge shoutout to my friend A for organizing this incredible hike—it absolutely lived up to the hype!

The best part? A beautifully shaded trail with waterfall after waterfall (yes, even in July!), plus gorgeous views along the way. 🌲✨

A few things to know:
🥾 Go early—parking fills up FAST.
⬆️ The first half is a workout with stairs, tree roots, and a few narrow trails.
💧 Bring lots of water.
🥪 Pack a lunch for the picnic tables at the top.
🎒 Hiking poles are a bonus.

And if you’re wondering whether kids can do it… my 9-year-old hiker crushed it! 🥾💚 Definitely a hike that’s worth adding to your list.

📍Have you hiked Cataract Falls yet?

If not, easiest way for me to give deets is to google “All Trails Cataract Falls Trail” - all the info is there!

We did this easy hike at Mori Point before dropping off family at SFO and it was gorgeous! The first portion (Old Mori Trail) takes you to the water and is ADA-friendly and easy for kids. From there you can choose to walk further up the stairs (Bootlegger’s Steps) to the cliff or check out other trails!

Any other trails you recommend around the Bay Area?

✅ Portapotties
✅ Parking (limited!)
🌟 Bring your water and snacks!

Please be safe. Apparently someone fell off the cliff taking a photo last month. 😔
