[NEW‼️] New home-based Malaysian Herbal BKT in Singapore?! Honestly, it tasted as good as the ones I had in Malaysia, if not better and now, you don’t even need to leave your house (& cross the custom) for this bowl of goodness which CY brew for at least 18 hours! Their large portion even comes with the claypot?! But don’t forget to reheat it before eating for maximum satisfaction!

📍 herbs & bones

i’m definitely a fan of the malaysian-style herbal bkt over the singapore-style peppery kind 😆 the richer and more herbalicious, the better imo!!! this homebased biz serves homemade herbal bkt in an actual claypot, which really reminds me of how they do it in 🇲🇾 super authentic 💯

their bkt comes in 2 sizes: small (1 pax) and large (2 pax). the small is served in an individual takeaway container, while the large comes in a legit claypot!!! i tried the latter and was honestly so impressed by how meticulous the packaging was. the soup was packed separately from the ingredients to keep everything fresh, while the ee mee came in its own container so it wouldn’t turn soggy. love how thoughtful everything is 🥹

the ⭐ of the show was definitely the soup. its dark colour already gave me a hint of how rich and deep the flavours were gonna be, and the herbs really HIT you 🌿 i loved how herbalicious it was!! the kind of soup you just keep going back for spoonful after spoonful hahaha. would’ve loved even more soup tbh 🤣 if this were a physical store, i’d definitely be asking for refills… maybe it’s time for them to open one? HAHAHA

the claypot was loaded with pork ribs, pork belly, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, tofu puffs and meatballs. the pork was super tender, literally falling off the bone and pulling apart effortlessly. that’s the hallmark of a good bkt imo 😋

you gotta add a side of dough fritters too cuz that’s what completes the whole meal right!! they soaked up the broth so well, and every bite released all that rich herbal soup 🤤

omg and their chilli was a HIT too 🌶️ it’s their own special blend and definitely not your usual bkt chilli. super garlicky, spicy and punchy, and it paired sooo well with the pork!

overall, this bkt can legit compete with some of the ones i’ve had in malaysia imo 🇲🇾 the rich herbal broth, tender pork and thoughtful packaging really did it for me. it’s gonna be a regular order from me from now on hahaha

[FIRST HOME-BASED BAK KUT TEH IN SINGAPORE?!] 👀

Herbs & Bone is a new home-based herbal Bak Kut Teh, originally from a family-run stall in Johor. It’s honestly quite hard to find herbal BKT in Singapore, and I’ve not come across a home-based one before, so I was really excited to try this!

I ordered their Large BKT with Ee Mian for a nice change from rice, and was really impressed that it came in a super sturdy biodegradable claypot! The soup had a really nice herbal aroma and depth, and the pot was loaded with fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, tender pork belly, enoki mushrooms, cabbage and meatballs.

Each pot takes 18 hours to brew, and they only prepare 20 portions daily, so do order early!

✨Save this for your next BKT craving!
