🙌🏼Let’s go Team Merton! 🙌🏼

🎉 The Mini Marathon in Schools is now OPEN.

ℹ️ If you didn’t already know, the Mini London Marathon in Schools is an event where all children across the UK can run, jog, walk, wheel or be guided around a two-mile course in their school setting.

💥 Since 2020, more than one million children in the UK have taken on the challenge. Simply staggering!

🤩 This year, we are delighted to announce our team of SMSC coaches are supporting schools in Merton with the planning and delivery of this event.

🤝 We feel privileged to be partnering with the amazing team at ParkRun and Hercules Wimbledon.

👏 It is a brilliant opportunity to bring the inspiration of the London Marathon right to the door step of the school playgrounds and fields.

🏅 Keep your eyes peeled as we will be bringing you updates of how Merton will be taking on the challenge of claiming that #1 spot.

Thomas Whorton | U17 800m Silver 🥈 PB 1:56.39

On Saturday, Thomas eased through the 800m heats, winning in 1:58.09, another personal best, to book his place in the final.

On Sunday, he stepped up again. Thomas delivered a 2-second personal best in the 800m final at the Indoor Championships, clocking 1:56.39 to secure silver.

That performance also breaks the 16-year-old @herculeswimbledon club record by one second.

A championship weekend built on patience, belief, and execution when it mattered most.

A big step forward, and a moment earned.

@thomas_whorton1 Plenty more to come.
