POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On July 4th, 2026, Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Black & Asian child, went on a trip with his friends off the coast of Mississippi and never made it home. They claimed he drowned, but he was a good swimmer and independent autopsies revealed that there was no water in his lungs. His travel companions repeatedly covered up evidence and refused to cooperate. On September 21st, the grand jury closed the case without issuing any criminal indictments. Mississippi's historical systemic injustices and racial biases towards the Global Ethnic Majority/People of Color have affected this lack of accountability. On George Floyd's birthday, the city of New York, with people from all backgrounds marched for Nolan. We are demanding that the case is reopened! Nolan we will not forget you! Wells family we stand with you! ❤️ To a human heart, every child is our own #justicefornolan #nolanwells #blacklivesmatter #aapi

📣 Tenants from 1705 Andrews ave in The Bronx organized a speak out on October 3rd to expose the conditions in the building with over 700 open violations such as mold, lead, and collapsed ceilings!

As the housing crisis intensifies, it is the working class that feels it hardest, facing the verge of eviction and threats of losing their housing assistance. Meanwhile, slumlords like Christopher Bramwell (# 77 out of 100 worst landlords in NYC according to public advocate) receive city handouts and tax breaks, getting away with a slap on the wrist for negligence where they pay a small fine and keep their properties.

Like a tenant said, "it's hard to just get up and move" that why they are fighting for their housing!

Tenants are tired of just shaming landlords they are taking back their power to organize and transform their conditions!

No one should be living in crumbling homes, no one should be unhoused, housing shouldn't be treated as a commodity and private property especially on stolen land!

Shout out to the youth and the mothers leading this struggle for safe and dignified housing!

📸🎥 Thank you to the tenants, comrades and @heroichira for the photos and videos!

The Bronx was on a whole different type of timing for the 4th of July this year. 😭🎆

From people walking around with firework launchers in the middle of the street to fireworks going off on every block, social media was flooded with videos that had NYC looking like a real-life GTA lobby. Even with NYPD out trying to control the crowds, the celebrations kept going all night. 😭💥

Was this the craziest 4th of July New York has ever had? 👀
