Truth be told. With the lat tear right in the thick of when prep shoulda started, I thought Worlds was likely out, and I was at peace with it.
Deciding to send it or not took up ALOT of my thoughts this last week. I was looking forward to it this year, new events that look fun, sharing the floor with the boys. The electricity of competition.
But had accepted it was likely out…So here we are, everyone’s peaking and I’m starting prep.
Make no mistake. I fully intend to stand on podium as always regardless of outcome…but I’m also doing this for the love of the game. I show up and have been someone you have to get through to earn that title every year since 2018. I intend to hold the line again this year.
I have 4 weeks, I feel pressure…and I love it. Nervous system is on fire. The fear of underperforming running down my spine. I’m sitting in it, rolling with the storm instead of fighting it.
See you all in the deep water on Nov 20🏴‍☠️

Hi everyone! 👋 My name is Emma, and I’m so excited to have joined the team here at Hex PTP as a Physical Therapist over the past month!

I grew up playing softball for Team PA and went on to play Division I softball at Towson University before earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duquesne University.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting.

My passion is working with athletes… and that includes all levels, from adults pursuing fitness and performance goals to baseball and softball athletes looking to stay healthy and performing at their best.

I’m excited to continue to bring my experience as both an athlete and a physical therapist to the team and help athletes of all levels keep doing what they love! 💪🏋️‍♀️⚾️🥎

GET IN THE WEIGHT ROOM 🏋️‍♀️🚨
Female athletes bias towards being more naturally mobile or “loose-jointed.” That mobility requires a lot of strength and control to manage the loads they’re asking their bodies to handle.

Strength training helps build capacity, control, and function.

Lifting weights isn’t unfeminine.
Being strong isn’t unfeminine.
Women don’t need to be fragile or meek.
Strong is powerful.
Every time you lift, you’re building the engine you’re asking to perform at its best everyday.
Fuel the engine💪

Velocity added to rehab…we are COOKIN🏴‍☠️

Week 6 really gave me some steam. I can feel the progress we’ve made through output. Excited…but controlled so I don’t do anything stupid…yet😂🤘🏼

Rehab wk 4: access of full ROM, deadlifting, power input.

This is the part where i actually have to be vigilant with my body. The excitement of real progress. Pain symptoms aren’t as loud as week 1, 2 or 3.
We are finding progress, but not pushing TOO far and forcing this process because results are really starting to show up.

@hex_ptp coupled with @quinzel.sports.massage and treatments from @joinmomentumhealth are showing RESULTS. 🏴‍☠️

A patient and a student at the same time. Confident and aggressive rehab with this team🤘🏼
You teach, you’re a friend and a LIGHTS out professional. Thank you for taking on another project with me🏴‍☠️
@dr.springs_ walking me through procedure the moment it tore over the phone all the way from Cali🙏🏼

Collecting variations like Pac-Man *insert whatever sound that is he makes* 🟡👻
The silver lining of a new injury: It forces creativity. If I’m better equipped with experience. So is my coaching, my training, my rehab, the signals my body sends in a new spot. If it’s not around, it’s through. If it’s not through it’s around. Either way. One week deep and we cookin🏴‍☠️

Lat tear. Gave it 24 hours to suck. Then attacked rehab.
Sorting the arounds and throughs to keep forward a daily thing🏴‍☠️
INCREDIBLY grateful for my team that is always in my corner on rehab. I have that much more confidence in this process with their expertise 🤘🏼
