Came to watch @bustagroovesd and all the crews performing and competing, as well as our beloved director: @anthonyrayishere performing! Shout out to Anna Sarao (rest in peace 🪽🫶🏼💃🏻) for being such an impact to dance and the dance community 🫶🏼. You will never be forgotten❤️. Thank you BAG and staff for hosting, and also congrats to @grvdnc, @monstercrewmxli , and @twotwentyteam for placing 🫶🏼, and congrats and much love to every crew who stepped foot on that stage and dance their hearts out. Yall 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

And thank you Anthony and @joselynarciaga for putting together @wave.lngth 🫶🏼, having a wonderful space to have us altogether to do what we love, and looking forward to what is in stored for us all.

June is already over 😭. Where did the time go? A little end of June dump action.

Thought I’d share some wins from the last 6 months that I tend to overshadow. Typing these to hold myself accountable and to acknowledge growth. ☺️

- started taking jazz funk classes this year to broaden my dance vocabulary, it’s been so fun!
- celebrated family weddings, and friend’s baby showers/accomplishments
- started dancing competitively (training mode), after 10 years!
- finding my community in Long Beach
- created more choreography and photography and picked up painting, been super consistent!
- started my new mental health journey with a new therapist, she’s been lovely
- focusing on my physical health and feel stronger
- learning more and appreciating life each day despite the hurdles, but we keep pushing!

Grateful for yall. ☺️

Grade:A was the biggest challenge of my life in America 🇺🇸✨
When I auditioned, I honestly didn’t think too deeply about it. I just had two feelings“I want to do this”and “I’ll regret it if I don’t try”So I took the chance and jumped in 🔥
Once it started, I had to balance a new job and dance.
I was traveling from LA to the studio in Anaheim every week by train 🚗💨Before I knew it, my life in LA became all about work and dance.
The reality was much harder than I imagined.
I barely had any time to rest, and I was dealing with an unknown health issue for 4 months.
But I kept going because I knew I wanted to finish what I started.I pushed through Grade A until the very end 🔥
Not only did we have weekly rehearsals, but I also spent so much time practicing on my own and doing late night practices.Everyone’s level was so high, and I was always trying my best to keep up. Even when I was busy. Even when I wasn’t feeling well. I never stopped dancing 🩰
I never imagined that someone like me, who had no hip-hop background, could grow this much.
Grade A helped me discover my potential and made me think“I want to become better.”“I want to take dance seriously.”
This place became so special to me 🤍✨
GRV is, one of the best dance schools in LA, and even in the US 🇺🇸
The instructors are incredible, and my Grade:A teammates are some of the most talented people I’ve ever met. Many of them are already working as dancers and instructors.
I feel so grateful and proud that I was able to be part of this environment as a Japanese dancer with no hip-hop experience 🇯🇵🤍
And most importantly, I truly loved this choreography ✨The reason I never gave up was because I knew I would regret it if I didn’t finish.“I want to perform this on showcase.”That’s how much this piece meant to me 🫶🏼
I’ll be going back to Japan soon 🇯🇵
But the memories and experiences I made through Grade A will stay with me forever.
This became one of the best experiences of my life in America 🌴✨
If I ever come back to the US, I hope I can dance with everyone again as a better version of myself 🔥
