POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When you meet a mom runner from Instagram and immediately realize you’re the same kind of weird. 😂

We had never met before this run. Apparently we skipped the awkward getting-to-know-you phase.

Shakeout or Costco? 😂

Today’s why comes from Heather @habitofexercise who had a hard time answering this question she admits BUT I think her answer will not only MOVE you but also have you nodding your head. OH! & she is carrying on a generation of MOTHER RUNNERS! Here's her why!:

"There is so much to be said. But man, what a blessing it is to be able to do something so simple yet so powerful. I am grateful I can run because I get so much joy out of running while listening to awesome music. And while running isn’t always lovely, there really is a sense of magic to it—like a brisk run in the morning light with crisp fall or spring air. Or doing a race with so many other people that have their own stories and just feeling proud of everyone for making it to race day!

Running is like a team thing and a super individual thing, which I think is really cool. And making memories with friends and family who also run is the stinking best.

When it comes down to my actual WHY, it is probably because my mom runs and has been a runner since as long as I can remember. When I was in college she would include me in her Ragnar relay teams and to this day she and I do half marathons together. I think because I have a mom who runs, I have naturally wanted to be a mom who runs. When I had my son just over two years ago, I had a used running stroller that was a bit ugly but it worked and as soon as spring hit I was out almost every week day running with him. I really think it was running with him that helped me find myself as a mother.

I run because at this point, it’s a part of who I am and it keeps me happy."

Mama ain’t raising no quitters 🤰🏼💪🏻 Before I got pregnant, I had a goal to do this half marathon. Then, Surprise! I got pregnant. But I didn’t let that stop me! Although training looked different, I am SO PROUD OF MYSELF. 20 weeks pregnant ☑️ 13.1 miles ☑️ Shout out to my amazing support group including my amazing mother in law, sister in law @heathrow_kenyon @heatherkenyoncoaching, my incredible husband @brady_rowlz and all my fam!! 👏🏻👏🏻 and, of course, my running buddy, baby #3 💙
