A little overdue for a UGC Journey update! Its been a lot of behind the scenes tasks of getting some logistical items done. Even though my portfolio is live, it will be an ongoing process to update it as my content improves. So glad that I was able to get some feedback from @tran.ugc to make me feel a little less lost 😄.

Biggest milestone is actually starting the pitching! Been using @onbento to do all the direct email pitching. I'm also getting a feel of other UGC/creator platforms that list ongoing campaigns brands have and trying a few to see how I like it. The real works starts now!

Let's call it what it is…

UGC coaching ( or any kind of online coaching ) is kind of like getting in shape.

If you want to get in shape - you can hire a coach to help you do that.

You can get in shape by weightlifting, by running, by doing HIT, or maybe you're into Orange Theory, maybe you're taking Zumba classes.

Regardless of the approach, your endgame is to get in shape.

And I do feel like UGC coaching works very similarly.

We're all basically teaching you the same skill.

But THE WAY you get there, obviously, varies vastly by each coach.

And each coach has their own specialty that they are known for.

My advice?

Pick the one that you resonate with the most. Pick the coach that is where you want to be. Obviously, pick the coach that aligns with your financial situation. Because everybody's programs are completely different in content, structure and pricing.

filming is my favorite part of being a creator but getting brands to work with can be where people struggle 🙃

Take these steps to attract your dream clients:
-optimize your portfolio to be searchable
-show off strong analytics from past clients
-show off your editing skills in your ugc examples
-post talking head content to show camera presences
-reach out to them via DMs to get a contact

A few months ago I scrolled past a post and realized I didn’t even know what “UGC” meant. I looked into it and got excited, then immediately overwhelmed. Everyone online was giving the same recycled “tips” that said nothing real.

Then I found these four. No fluff, no fake hype, just people who’ve actually been doing this for years and treat you like you’re smart enough to handle the real answer. I started following their free content, sitting in on their workshops, and slowly the pieces started making sense.

I’m still a beginner, but I finally understand the foundations enough to start figuring out my own approach. And once I’m further along, I’m 100% investing in coaching from one of them.
