Round 3. Gassed. And my coach said two words that changed the fight: "Be selfish."

Not cruel. Selfish. Stop recovering because you feel bad for him. Stop letting him back in the fight because hurting others hurts you more than taking the pain.

I heard it in my body. Because that sentence was not about the fight.

Being an empath, energetically sensitive,
I was the people pleaser. The doormat. I let people walk all over me, in the ring and in life. That is why I started martial arts. Not to hurt anyone. To find my backbone, dignity and self respect

The moment I owned that I am the only one responsible for my win, everything changed. I pushed through. Hand raised.

How we do one thing is how we do everything.

So this is for everyone on the self improvement journey: give yourself permission to win.

Put yourself in a position to win. When you play full out, everyone is better off long term.

That old me is not who I am anymore.
and what about you?

In your life and business what's possible when you give yourself permission to win?

Built, not borrowed.

In October 2024, I came back to run UFC Gym Huntington Beach—and over the last 18 months, we built something real.

A team that shows up.
A culture that competes.
A standard that doesn’t bend.

To every team member—thank you.
To every member who trusted us—respect.

As I finish out my time through the end of April, it’s bittersweet… but it’s time.

I’m stepping into the next season—building, leading, and going all in on what’s ahead.

This isn’t the end.
It’s the transition.

God was in every step of this season—and He’s leading what’s next.
