POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This Friday, the official presale of Our Midnight Rituals, my first photobook, opens with @foureyeseditions.

It all feels dreamlike, unreal. Something that has been gestating for months with so much intention, is about to be born.

The photograph is from November 2023, around my first months in Lisbon. We took the bus to Faro for the day. It was raining, thick with fog, and we ended up on the beach anyway. The wind pushed us along. We gathered shells, had coffee and soaked ourselves in tobacco by the shore. I felt us pulsing together, full of desire and dreams.
Around that time, after a night of confessions and stories at a pool bar, I came home overflowing with inspiration and wrote what you see in the second image. A page from my journal that now lives inside the book:
“… I watch them as they speak and move with such a magical air, as if with every gesture they were casting a spell.
My women, my witches, creators, passionate, tender but stronger than silence.
Bursting with desire, often frustrated, because they know there is more, that we are only just scratching the surface of all we are capable of feeling, yet with the calm of knowing that we are building who we are.
I believe I have now found a kind of kinship, a cluster that reflects parts of myself I have not yet fully seen. I feel touched by destiny.”

The last picture is me in my second room in Lisbon, almost empty, except for a salt lamp from the little spiritual shop I had just discovered in the neighbourhood. I knew a seed had just been thrown.

A loud thank you to…
