@hi_amelia, Gear Contributor for Outside, reviews the Mountain Hardwear Alakazam 45L Backpack, what she describes as a pack for the ultralight curious. Made of ALUULA Graflyte, it weighs about 1.7-1.8 lbs depending on the size. Amelia has struggled with back injuries and neck pain in the past, but this has helped her bring her pack weight down and hike more comfortably. Read more about the pack at the link in our bio. 🎥: @hi_amelia #backpacker #backpacking

Åre, Sweden’s biggest ski town turns into a hiker’s wonderland in summer. A cool alternative to classic Euro destinations when temps are high. Åre offers a massive amount of hiking options, both day and multi-day, that show off mountain views, valley-fields and beautiful swim spots and places to dine out. @hi_amelia trekked out for FM, writing up a full guide, including when to go, where to stay and where to eat and it’s up now on fieldmag.com

From initial brief to final rollout, ECHOS linked up with @arcteryx to bring the Groundworks Finale to life. A big holler to @champs_burger and @letemcookpdx for keeping our bellies full, and to @rnwy.life, @honeystinger, and @bestdaybrewing for keeping everyone hydrated and feeling their best.

Quick overnight backpack with Tara and Amelia. Reminded me that every night of tent sleep is worth the effort. 🥲

A belated update and reflection: since November, I’ve been working at @gnuhr_studio as a 3D Print Specialist, primarily working on productionizing the Footprint Camp Sandal: a lightweight, minimal sandal designed for camp and river crossings. It’s made up of two or three pieces that are 3D-printed in a single material, and it all ships flat in an envelope for you to assemble at home! It’s been incredibly fulfilling to own and manage the production. In my time there, we’ve doubled our production capacity, optimized our manufacturing processes, improved yields, and owned our waste. Nearly every single pair out in the world was printed by me in-house in our print farm. And it’s so satisfying to see our community excitedly show themselves assembling and wearing the sandals on their ig stories. In the spirit of 3D printing and democratizing manufacturing and MYOG, we made the sandal STLs available for purchase and download, so 3D-print enthusiasts could print the sandals at home with their own color and material choices. And people are actually doing it!! More recently, I’ve been exploring what else we could do with our 3D-printing capabilities—trying new materials, prototyping and manufacturing end-use components, and exploring new footwear ideas. It’s been inspiring to work at a brand and in an environment that so beautifully interprets ultralight backpacking’s culture around function and minimalism, and it does so in a way that provokes new ways of making. Sustainability is built in, and creative exploration is the MO. My time at gnuhr is winding down soon, and I’m excited to share what’s next in my footwear journey. Super grateful to @nur_light and @jack.dorrance and everyone else at the studio for their guidance and support, and just generally being good vibes 🤍👣

Thanks again to @backpackermag for sharing a bit about Trail Name Tales. When I started this project back in Georgia at the beginning of my trek on the AT in 2022, I had no idea it would grow into what it is today. Thanks for following along. - Carly Rae aka Hippea ✌️ 🔗Link in bio for the article by @hi_amelia 💙 #backpacker #backpacking #trailnametales #photooftheday
