We wanted to share these moments from
@extrasoulperception UK tour @thejazzcafe

Partnering with @extrasoulperception has been an enriching journey on so many levels. Watching these immensely talented artists come together and smash through barriers and borders to create music and bonds that blend cultures, energies and sounds was beyond inspiring. We need more of this in the world!

Heartfelt thanks to @andylemayyy @aaronl.aaronl @jakeromanders and @heard.agency for your vision and for bringing us onboard with with project.

New Tangents...Vol. 1 is out today!

7 months ago in Nairobi, a group of open-minded artists from Kenya, Uganda and the UK spent a week making music together, not knowing where their individual talents would take them as a group.

Powered by artistic firsts, unexpected cameos, remote working, face-to-face learning and deep connections, the five tracks on their debut release celebrates how far that faith took them.

🔗 to buy on vinyl or digital.

All label takings for this Bandcamp Friday go towards charities supporting Black communities in Kenya, Uganda, UK and the US.

New Tangents Vol. 1 is:

A1 Maxwell Owin & Xenia Menasseh feat. Joe Armon-Jones - Probably Never
A2 Lex Amor, Hibotep & Faizal Mostrixx - Ancestry
A3 Lynda Dawn & Bes Kept - Roses
B1 K15 & Labdi - Utokapo
B2 Faizal Mostrixx & Karun - In My Soul

Throughout the writing camp in Nairobi, we were joined by local journalist Wanjeri on behalf of African culture mag @nataalmedia. Her in-depth article has just gone live, which captures the spirit of that week to a tee.

Massive love to Wanjeri and the whole Nataal team.

Ears still ringing after the writing camp, we hopped over to Kampala to soak up the sights, smells and (most importantly) sounds of the Ugandan capital. With @hibotep and @faizalmostrixx as our guides, we experienced a scene completely different but just as vibrant as Nairobi: a National Theatre with a sound system scrap heap where Faizal practices with his dance group as the evening light spills through the brutalist architecture; @nyegenyege’ s new club where Hibo is free to embrace the kind of creative expression marginalised by Museveni; a disused airstrip with @wizkidayo where people partied harder on a Thursday night than most weekends in London.

Don’t listen to the travel guides, Kampala takes the crown as the city that never sleeps. Thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome.

Next stop - UK tour in February. Head to our bio for tickets in London, Manchester and Liverpool.
