ADVENTURE AWAITS… IN THE ANDES MOUNTAINS 🏔️

The time has finally come and Summit Sisters is going international again! We are very excited to announce that in 2027, we will be exploring the beautiful country of Ecuador 🇪🇨

🏕️ - REGISTRATION IS LIVE !!!

✈️ - You can access an application via the link in our bio.

🤸‍♂️ - FUN FACT: The Andes run down the middle of Ecuador from north to south, covering about a quarter to one-third of the country’s total land area. This mountain range in Ecuador is roughly 430-500 miles long starting from the northern boarder of Colombia through the southern boarder of Peru.

If you knew me in 2012, I would sit in the lobby of my college dorm with my coffee pot and offer people a cup of coffee and a place to sit and chat on a Friday morning after class. Fika Friday has existed long before @ritualwellnessspace , but the intention has always remained the same.
.
What started as an excuse to not work on a Friday morning has turned into a communal remedy to slow down, smell the coffee, and genuinely connect with others. Nothing seems to bring me more peace than conscious conversations over a warm beverage or a shared meal. It reminds me that I’m human, it fulfills a basic need of grounding into the moment with others that could use a break, too.
.
Fika is a Swedish cultural tradition of taking a break to sit with friends and enjoy a coffee or tea. And this simple sentiment is celebrated throughout other cultures and societies. And I’m grateful to carve out a little community ritual with those who continue to show up, connect, and indulge in the joy of slowing down and connecting.
.
I am so grateful for those who not only come to support local businesses but also stay to breathe and pour into themselves. Breathwork has been an essential part of my journey of breaking the cycles of burnout. And I have truly witnessed miracles in myself and others, simply through holding space and breathing.
.
The most simple practices are truly so powerful. I can’t wait to see where this takes us 💖
.
Thank you to @hibiscuslatincafe for hosting our first Fika field trip 💖 your space is filled with love and connection
.
And a huge heartfelt thank you to @alyssamarie.photo @higherselfandservice for taking these beautiful shots and baring witness to such a sacred community space 💖 all my love

Photography is what you make it.

I own thousands of dollars of Sony equipment and produced this photo on my phone in the car in 20 mins.

Yes high quality equipment is important for putting out high quality work as a professional but you don’t need it to make ART. You don’t need thousands of dollars of photography equipment to make people FEEL something.

It’s as if we forgot we can make art without the thousands of dollars worth of equipment. I wonder why????????? Some people get into photography and follow every trend under the sun just to try and “make it” or “go viral” and it’s prioritized the quality of equipment and content rather than the quality of our creativity. This is mimetic desire, and it’s something I’ve learned more about recently..

I even hesitated on posting this because it didn’t come from my camera???? Tf ? I’m sharing it now because the response I’ve received via my stories. It’s moving people.

What makes this more of a statement is that I have the iPhone 16e, that’s the shittiest IPhone camera on the market. I don’t even have .5 💀

!!!!!You don’t need to have a professional mirrorless camera to get started with the creative ideas you have living rent free in your head. Just go for it!!!!!

I used @labbet.app to create this edit

one month ago today, i was on a plane returning from my 3rd expedition with @wellfitgirls. one week spent leading a backpacking trip on mount hood in oregon. i witnessed the fortitude & resilience built in a group of young women be put into practice. mother nature had big plans for our time hiking & camping—offering us rain, snow, sleet, and hail. nevertheless, we persisted. on our final day, we were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day at an alpine lake. a picturesque reminder that it doesn’t stay challenging forever. it’s always darkest before the dawn.
