Walk with me around Highland Park's Katsura Tree.

Highland Park’s lilacs are blooming, and they smell absolutely scrumptious! It’s wonderful to see so many varieties in flower. With the fragrance of spring in the air and autumn foliage all around, it feels like late April and mid-October have come together for one perfect day.

This is why there's no place I'd rather be in October than Rochester. Happy 100th birthday to Monroe County Parks!

Highland Park's 100+-year-old Katsura tree smells like cotton candy right now. There are also a few Katsura glens in Durand Eastman that are lovely, too.

I just nominated this bench in Highland Park for Best Place to Sit in Nature for an Hour. After an hour and careful consideration, I awarded it first place.

🍁🍂 Fall Colors, Community & a Beautiful Day in Highland Park! 🍂🍁

What a wonderful way to celebrate the beauty of autumn in Rochester!

Today, the Highland Park Conservancy hosted a SOLD-OUT Fall Foliage Tour, led by Brian Eshenaur, Cornell IPM Associate Director and longtime supporter of the Conservancy.

With Highland Park showing off its beautiful fall colors, guests enjoyed an opportunity to explore the park, learn more about its incredible trees, and appreciate the natural beauty that makes this Rochester treasure so special.

A huge thank you to Brian for sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for the park, and to everyone who joined us for this wonderful autumn experience!

There’s something truly special about bringing people together to celebrate nature, history, and community in one of Rochester’s most beloved parks. 🍁❤️

I'm so grateful to a new friend who chose the Highland Park hardcover edition as this year's holiday gift for a group of friends and family who share a love for our Olmsted-designed treasure. What a thoughtful way to celebrate a place that means so much to them. And to me.
