Still reflecting on an unforgettable weekend at the CSW World Conference. It was a real honor to witness the belt promotions of @riganmachado and @erikpaulson, meet @roriongracie, roll with the @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu, and train MMA with @gregnelsonmma. So much learning, inspiration, and joy packed into one weekend.

What always stands out most at @csw_headquarters and @cswassociation, though, is the people — reconnecting with friends and being surrounded by such kind, talented, and generous human beings.

And truly, the hero behind it all is @tonyapaulson. Her dedication, care, and tireless efforts are a huge part of what makes these camps so special, and they only continue to get better. I’m also forever grateful to my mother-in-law, @brenda._king, for introducing me to the Paulsons.

Excited to continue training Shooto, MMA, Catch Wrestling, and BJJ with Sensei @erikpaulson — and to be part of many more CSW camps and events to come.

We’re often asked how we score matches, and the answer is:
WE DON’T!
We allow our panel of judges to discern who they believe won the match based on their personal criteria. Because of this, we make sure our judges are well-experienced so we can trust any decision they make is legitimate.

With that said, let’s introduce our most common judges since our move to Corridor Courts!

Gary Hilleshiem @hilleshiem_, proprietor of Des Moines Catch Club, is a BJJ black belt with over 20 years of experience. He has additional experience in wrestling, TKD (black belt), judo (black belt), combat submission wrestling (level 10 coach), taijutsu (2nd degree), and catch wrestling.

Travis Lang @ninja_tvo, head coach and owner of Liberty Grappling Club, is a BJJ black belt with over 10 years of grappling experience.

Josh Henry 145bambam, head coach and owner of Henry’s Martial Arts, has over 20 years of wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and mma experience including 18 professional mma fights!

Eddie Davis @davis.judo.9, head coach and owner of @the_crucible563, is a BJJ black belt with over 15 years of experience and our very own Gi Openweight Champion. He has additional experience in judo (black belt), TKD (black belt), and boxing!

Charles Heller @charles.heller.31, head coach and owner of @iowamartialarts and matchmaker for Ascendancy Fighting Championship, is a black belt under John DeVall with over 15 years of experience. He has additional experience in coaching dozens of athletes in MMA and kickboxing!

Sam Gaier @samgaier, head coach and owner of @ronin_fitness_, is our very own Interim Middleweight Champion with 15 years of grappling experience boasting several ammy MMA and Sub Spectrum Advanced Absolute titles.

One-time judges since the move to Corridor Courts include:
BJJ and Judo Black Belt and our very own Men’s Openweight Champion Spencer Oberbroeckling @spenceroberbroecklingbjj
BJJ Brown Belt and Orbit CEO Jonah Nassif @jonahnassifbjj
BJJ Purple Belt and Orbit President/Matchmaker Jordan Mills @jordan.a.mills

Another amazing @cswassociation BJJ Camp in the books. Honored to be amongst so many legends and represent CSW under @erikpaulson . Learned an immense amount from Sensei himself, @riganmachado @the_baltimorebutcher and the @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu
