Get hands-on with the art and science of pickling and preservation—and learn how to turn a late-fall harvest into something you can enjoy long after the season has passed.

Working with organic produce from Moon Valley Farm, we’ll explore pickling, fermenting and other traditional preservation techniques drawn from food cultures around the world. You’ll learn how to work with the season’s abundance, build flavor and stock your pantry with preserves of your own to take home.

Put @hillskitchendc on your Eastern Market list! 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳

Sarah and Miles run the shop, two Michelin-trained cooks who know their way around a kitchen, so everything here, from the cookware and knives to the baking tools and cookbooks, is thoughtfully picked by people who actually use it.

And there’s a whole cooking school upstairs. You can take classes on knife skills, handmade pasta, and more, join their monthly cookbook club, or even book a private class for a birthday, team event, or night with friends.

So whether you’re looking for a new kitchen tool, need a good gift, or want something different to do in DC, this is a great one to know.

📍Save this for your next Eastern Market day and send it to someone you’d take to a cooking class.
