UNMASKED: MEN, MENTAL HEALTH & EDUCATION

What happens when the pressure to achieve, lead, provide, and succeed collides with the things men are often taught to keep to themselves?

It’s time to UNMASK the conversation.

Join us for an engaging virtual discussion exploring the intersection of Men’s Mental Health & Education — from the classroom to the campus, from educators to administrators, and from achievement to the mental and emotional realities that often go unseen.

Real Men. Real Experiences. Real Conversation.

September 30, 2026
6:30 PM
Virtual via Zoom

Hosted by Delta Psi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Co-Hosted by Minority Psychology Network

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a conversation. Come ready to listen, engage, and UNMASK what happens at the intersection of mental health and academics.

🔵🤘🏾 UNMASKED — because what we carry matters, too.

Halfway through the year and already so much has happened. It has been wonderful to have so many opportunities to work for and represent Phi Beta Sigma, including my second NBA halftime performance, getting to attend the Juneteenth brunch with the Senator, presenting at the Colorado State Meeting and Western Region Executive Board Retreat, and so much more behind the scenes!
I also had the honor of being named the Western Region Collegiate of the Year, and being chosen as the inaugural member of the Emile Pitre Western Region Honors Society- earning me the distinction of being Prestigious Bro. Williams.

My 2026 journey continues as I prepare to travel to Nashville for the Walter M. Clarke Leadership Institute, where I will be serving as a collegiate facilitator. I am beyond excited to see what lies in store for me down the road!

A Conversation About Healing, Strength & Brotherhood

Too often, men are taught to suffer in silence. To carry pressure, pain, stress, anxiety, trauma, and expectations without ever being given space to process it. This panel was created to challenge that narrative.

Join us for an intentional conversation centered on mental health, emotional wellness, vulnerability, healing, and the importance of community among men. Through honest dialogue and lived experiences, our panelists will discuss the realities men face and the importance of breaking stigma while creating spaces where men can truly be seen, heard, and supported.

⏰ 6:00 PM PST
💻 Via Zoom

Co-Moderators

• Bro. Dr. Carroll Brown
• Successful Brim — Founder of Minority Psychology Network (MPN)

Our first Talk + Play of 2026 at @TheNarrativeLA was impactful.

Thank you to our panelists, Dr. Montielle Brandman (@montyb_phd) and Dr. Robert Hill (@hillstrong1) for debunking myths, explaining signs, sharing their stories, and offering much-needed advice about organ health and donation.

Host @domthacreator did his 1-2, ensuring that the conversation was full of life, light, laughter, and honest reflection.

The full conversation will be made available on our YouTube page shortly.

For now, be sure to follow @OneLegacyInspires, @TheNarrativeLA, and our guests and host to stay locked in to their respective journeys.

Talk. Play. Connect. ♠️

Last Saturday, 🖤✌🏽♠️ gathered at @TheNarrativeLA for Talk + Play, a conversation with our partners at @OneLegacyInspires about organ donation, community health, and the power of having the conversations that matter.

Then the tables opened.

Our second Ranked Spades Tournament of the season found players hitting the table, sharing stories, and the room filled with the kind of connection that only happens when people sit down and play together.

Because at Love, Peace & Spades, the table has always been more than a game.

It’s where culture, learning, and real conversations meet.

Special thanks to our host, @domthacreator, for holding the conversation down, @hillstrong1 and @montyb_phd for being so informative, our volunteers (@aphrojuju, @eloquint08, @michelle.brantley.88) for keeping things on track, @djkaaosjones for providing the soundtrack, and @itsmieshaaaaaa for providing us a hush harbor for dialogue that can save lives.

Up next:

3/14: Sister Dreamer with @summaeverythang
3/18: #SpadesAcademy at @OurHouse.48th
4/4: BLK WMNS Appreciation Game Night w/ @Prosperity.Market
4/4: @radiofreekjlh Spring Fest 2026 at @mbobamasportscomplex

At yesterday’s Talk + Play, we opened the conversation about organ donation and community health.

Today we’re sharing real steps people can take when searching for a living organ donor.

For many patients, the journey begins with sharing their story and inviting their community into the process.

Organizations like @onelegacyinspires can also help guide people through the living donor journey.

Because sometimes the first step is simply starting the conversation.
