Poster Credit: @himbometal
Event Description:
@theatre_warrior new play in development, RARE WOLVES, is an evocative, poetic play about a pack of transgender and nonbinary people decried as monsters by their families or former communities. They build their own humble utopia in the woods to escape violence and persecution and to nourish their humanity. They find love, acceptance, and joy in the community they form together, making them powerful beyond imagination.
Please join us in the developmental process: Each staged reading presentation will be followed by a Talkback facilitated by Dramaturg @admiralzachbarr, and a link will be provided so that additional thoughts can be submitted via a Google Form.
RARE WOLVES is an inventive work that presents a beautiful representation of the transgender community. The stage reading is on March 29th-31st at the United Church of Rogers Park. Tickets are free and can be reserved in the link in the bio.
Prints of J Dawn’s poster will be available for purchase and 50% of the profits will go to support the following organizations:
3/29: @bravespacealliance
3/30: @translawcenter
3/31: @transupfrontil
Do not miss this wonderful performance.

Get you a friend that you can sit and collage with like @himbometal - gab about the mysteries of the universe and time while also loosing track of time and making art. They are offering collage commissions and it was such a joy to sit with them and learn how they do it. I got to rummage their collection and make this one and I’m in love!

It’s wild and crazy out there. I’ve been making the post holiday rounds reconnecting with community and I’m noticing a theme: everyone is IN IT. We are all up against something big, nothing is easy, the world feels heavy, expensive and is spiking our nervous systems at every turn. Not to mention, Midwest winter is weighing on us. While varying degrees of mood across the board, everyone I talk to is being rocked by something. Check in on your people. Offer brevity. Sit and gab while making collages. Giggle like kids while sculpting with play-doh. Offer to sit while they do chores or FaceTime chat over tea.
