If you’re a high school player, you probably have less time left than you actually realize. Four years sounds like forever when you’re a freshman, but that changes fast once you break it down week by week. Swipe through and see what the numbers actually look like.

From your first day of freshman year to graduation, you get roughly 200 weeks. That means every single week is about half a percent of your entire high school career. That week is going to go by whether you train or not, so the only real question is whether you did something with it.

This is where a lot of players get caught. They show up in November, work their tail off all winter, and then disappear from the weight room once the season starts. That’s about 16 weeks a year, which adds up to roughly 32% of your high school career spent actually getting better. The strength and speed you built doesn’t stick around on its own, and a good chunk of it is gone by the time next winter rolls around.

Be honest with yourself about how many weeks you have left. If you’re a senior, you’re looking at roughly 38. If you’re a freshman, you have more time than anyone, which is exactly why now is the best time to start building good habits. And if you’re planning on taking a month off after your season, that’s 2% of your window. Recover, but keep finding ways to get better.

Playing college baseball isn’t going to just happen on its own. You need to be proactive. Coaches are looking at your grades, your body, your health, your video and how you carry yourself. Every one of these boxes takes time to check off, and none of them get done in a 16-week window. How many of these can you honestly say you’re on top of right now?

Long story short, the clock doesn’t stop for anybody. Father Time remains undefeated. You have about 200 weeks, a winter-only plan covers roughly a third of them, and there’s a whole checklist that has to get done before you graduate. The players who end up on college rosters are usually the ones who figured out how to use the other 68%.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s exactly what we’re here for. Send us a message and we’ll help you put together a plan that makes the most of the weeks

I am truly thankful and excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Misericordia University!!
From a girl playing baseball all her life making endless memories and being on a team with people I can call my brothers. I want to thank the Brooklyn Cougars organization with blessing me with the opportunity to play the sport I love and helping me learn what it’s like to be a leader on and off the field. I want to thank my mom and dad, with the countless hours they spent traveling and the early mornings and late night they never stopped believing in me and supporting me. They pushed me to limits I didnt know I had. With my dad being my coach all the way up to junior year of high school. I want to thank the whole Red Devils organization for making me feel welcome and providing this opportunity and helping me learn and grow in this new journey.
I want to give a thanks to Coach Kevin Duffy who’s seen me through it all from 9u baseball coach to my athletic trainer and my go to guy in high school. And to Coach Solano for helping shape the player I am today. A thanks to all my family friends, all my teammate’s, and all my coaches throughout the years for supporting me and being part of this journey. And lastly I would like to thank Coach Blum and the whole Misericordia team for believing in me. Cant wait to get to work!!Go Cougars!!💙💛
