My Thoughts: HE HAD IT COMING is a novella, so I flew through it in a single sitting! It’s a fast-and-furious revenge thriller that moves at a breakneck pace.

I didn’t care for a single person in this cast—they’re all unapologetically messy, deeply toxic, and completely unlikable—but the chaotic energy and twists are what kept me glued to this wickedly dark thriller.

This book was SO MUCH FUN to read! 😍 If you love psychological thrillers packed with secrets, suspicious characters, and that delicious feeling of not knowing who to trust, you need to give this one a chance.

I honestly think this book deserves so much more attention than it gets! It’s the kind of thriller that makes you want to keep turning pages just to see what’s really going on. 👀

Let’s give underrated thrillers the love they deserve, because not every amazing book gets the hype it should.

It's been a while 🫣 I'm still here! Between quilting and audiobooks, I've been pretty busy lately!! It's also been a chaotic time in general lately.

I am currently reading my third Darby Kane book in a row. Well listening on audiobook, I just couldn't find my headphones to add to make the picture pretty 🤣 This book is so good so far, I'm 43% of the way through so far.

Amery is the rich, powerful, domineering matriarch of her family . . . & cunning. Ten years after her husband, Walter, was murdered on their palatial Rhode Island estate, she has summoned her family back for the weekend.

Oldest son Tristan & his pregnant wife, Olivia, are joined by daughter Kinsley & her husband, Vaughn. Youngest son Cooper brings his fiance, Jenna, to meet the family. Surprisingly, Elle arrives with her son, Hunter, who was fathered by Tristan when he was just 19 years old. Ingrid, Amery's long-time friend who has lived on the property since the death of her husband, is also invited.

So begins a weekend of treachery, backstabbing, lies, machinations . . . and murder. The characters in author 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐲 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐞's atmospheric & very clever thriller, 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝗪𝐢𝐟𝐞, are largely despicable which is why it is being likened to "Succession." Logan Roy would tell this group, as he did his children, "You are not serious people!"

They don't realize until they arrive that they are going to spend their time solving (or confessing to?) Walter's murder. The person who correctly identifies the killer wins the "door prize" -- the estate valued at $28 million.

Told through multiple points of view, the narrative shifts between that fateful night a decade ago & present day. Trying to guess who killed Walter is only part of the fun. The star of this tale is Amery, who is always a step ahead of her guests. She knows all of them well -- their scandalous pasts & fatal weaknesses -- & skillfully matches wits with Jenna, who arrives unaware that Amery is, of course, fully prepared for the events that are about to unfold . . . & knows the real reason Jenna is there.

𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝗪𝐢𝐟𝐞 is fast-paced & entertaining, in no small part because of the believable, crackling dialogue Kane employs to reveal her characters' personalities, histories, & relationships with each other. It's an excellent choice to read under a blanket on a crisp autumn day.

I am so happy I had the opportunity to read an ARC of Don't Blame the Wife! 😍

It was fast paced, full of secrets, and kept me guessing all the way to the end. I really enjoyed the multiple points of view and the glances back into the past.

This was a fun mystery to try and solve. I definitely recommend reading this one. It's not available until January 5th, but you can pre-order it now! 📚

What a WILD ride! This had me hooked from the beginning!

The short chapters and multiple POVs made this one even more fastpaced and hard to put down. I was constantly trying to figure out who was telling the truth and who might be hiding something. Because…this family has SECRETS. I loved the twists, the family drama, the greed, and everyone is a suspect.

If you enjoy locked-room mysteries, dysfunctional rich families, multiple POVs, short chapters and twisty thrillers definitely add this one to your TBR!

The engagement party was an entertaining locked-door thriller. I really enjoyed the plot, and the mystery aspect was very well done, creating suspicion among each of the characters. However, there were a lot of different POVs, which made it confusing at times to keep everything and the storyline straight. Aside from that, everything else was great! Overall, a fun and twisty read!

Adorable! I absolutely loved the Fiancée Dilemma! The plot was so cute and the perfect messy love story. The characters were all so realistic and likeable, making it impossible not to become addicted to their story. I loved the layers and the way it made you feel all the emotions! Highly recommend for a teary, heartwarming story!

Almost Pretend was a surprising delight. I loved it and everything about it. The characters and dynamic were great and intriguing. I loved the backstory and character depth that we gained through the 2 POVs, and the plot was fun. It was a bit spicier than I would’ve liked, but overall an amazing read!
