Today was an emotional day for me. I finished my last active treatment for breast cancer. It’s been a long year of treatment. Instead of sharing all of the bad, hard, unfair, and scary things that I’ve faced in the last year, I want to share all of the good. Despite this life altering diagnosis, I was still able to find joy and most times it was in the people that I’ve met along the way or the ones who were standing right beside me. I’m a better person because of this journey.💕🎀

Breastie Dreamland 2025 the year I reconnected with some wonderful cabin mates and added more! This camp and organization have been a godsend on my Previvor journey. I can’t thank the community enough for all the friends I’ve made, all the things I’ve learned in advocacy, and the activities I got to lead this year. Can’t wait to see you all next year. I approached this year with the attitude of embracing new things starting with the 8am cold plunge to the outfit I wore to Breastival. Thank you for accepting me no matter what. 🏕️💜

When one of your Camp @the_breasties cabin mates flies in from Paris for a NYC bucket list trip you show up and out.
Breastie magic and Christmas magic were in full effect last night and it was just what the doctor ordered. Walking through @bryantparknyc Christmas market, taking in the Christmas displays, fuzzy hats, good food, bumping into the talented @jjniemann (Hamilton and Back to the Future musical 🤗) and such wonderful memory making. I sure love my people and my heart is full.

Oh Camp Breastie, you are the restoration to a weary soul. To be seen, to be heard, to be understood and to simply just be my full out cancery self for a few days with people who “get it” is the best medicine I could have asked for.

There were times earlier this year when I had significant liver progression that I was afraid I wouldn’t see you again. But things started to turn around and I was DETERMINED to be a cabin leader, share my voice and add another fruit tattoo to my arm. (Here’s looking at you 🍎Apples 2025🍏 and 🍇Grapes 2024🍇!!!)

I am so grateful for the community that @the_breasties has created. It’s brought so many wonderful people into my life and I can’t imagine doing this without them. Thank you @paige_previvor @trish_newyorkcity @brimaj and @alliebrumel for providing this space for us and all the hard work that you do!

I just want to remind all my Breasties out there that whether you are a caregiver, previvor, survivor, currently undergoing treatment, newly diagnosed or thriving and vibing with Stage 4 - YOU BELONG and you are SO INCREDIBLY LOVED!!!

It’s taken a few days to really process the #breastiemagic I experienced at #CampBreastie this past weekend. @thebreasties have really created something special where previvors, survivors, those in active treatment, and thrivers alike can come together, feel seen, and just “be” their full, out loud, authentic, unapologetic selves in a safe, supportive environment surrounded by people who just “get it”. It felt like the best hug to a weary soul that’s had a hard few years. I made new friends, spent time cultivating IRL friendships with Insta friends, and connected with other thrivers who made me feel so much less alone with my own diagnosis. I left camp armed with friendship bracelets, amazing memories, and new knowledge from such a diverse, accomplished (not to mention inspiring) array of speakers and panelists - even more resolved than ever to speak up and be an advocate for myself and others. Heather ( @hmsmc10 ) started following us back in 2020 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. She always wanted to order a shirt, but in July, when her cancer returned as stage 4, she finally bought one to show that cancer once again messed with the wrong person. Heather is currently undergoing radiotherapy treatments, so feel free to share some supportive words with this amazing, strong, and wonderful person. You go, Heather! One day at a time. This month, AUP graduate students traveled to Athens, Greece, as a part of the Ithaca Laundry Project study trip led by professors Albert Cath and Robert Earhart of the Master's in International Management.

Students worked with the organization @ithacalaundry during this study trip. As part of graduate courses in NGO Management, Consulting Method, and NGO Financial Management, the organization served as the client for students, who worked directly with representatives from the organization on pressing issues. They also discussed the urgent subject of homelessness and interacted with other solidarity organizations and local experts during this multi-day trip to Athens.

Ithaca Laundry also operates Europe's first mobile laundry unit for the homeless and offers reintegration services to reduce the social exclusion of the homeless. Until today, Ithaca has helped over 8000 people.
