Stitching a MUNCHKIN PUMPKIN. My new idea this year is using CORK for the stem. It's just the right colour and texture and it doesn't unravel!

Campfire Coffee Spill is the name of this quilted coat. Corduroy collar, cuffs and trim, fully lined. Born from a @hoffmanfabrics challenge to use 5 fabrics ( browns) with the theme coffee.

At my farm, I take my coffee outside to the fire and I spill some every time. The coffee flows in the front from one side to another as well as cascading down the back. Splatters and drops of coffee are shown with pops of pinks and oranges to bring in the campfire. It was a labour of love and my entry into the challenge.

Pattern: Chore coat by @patchworkandpoodles
Theme fabric: @hoffmanfabrics
Other fabric: my stash
Lining and corduroy: church rummage sale for $2
Thread: @wonderfilspecialtythread

Quilt top finished in 2 weeks, quilting and binding another 2 months especially after so many false starts with my binding 😅 pivot plan and keep going. Now after 2 weeks of hand binding (I have so many thoughts on this, but let’s leave it at no one in my house was a fan 🤣🤣🤣) this thing, it’s complete and I have to decide what to do with this finished quilt 🤔🤔🤔 I usually make quilts for specific people, or by the time I finish it I know who it should belong to. This quilt though, I’m just not sure.
Fabrics are @connectingthreads faux linen tonals and shimmer tonals and the binding is an old @hoffmanfabrics that I found in my stash with a newer bubble tonal from my stash.
Quilt pattern is the Echo Trails quilt from @cmariequilts such a fun pattern, great way to use those fat quarters that are hanging out in your fabric stash!

Here's a look round the KALEIDOSCOPE Fabric and Quilt Book Shop. They sell online and go to the big Shows. But it was so much fun to see all this fabric in real life!! I had such a great time wandering around and choosing fabric for my next projects. You can visit their website: www.kalquilts.com. They'll be at the Knit & Stitch BELFAST in November, Thursday the 12th - Sunday the 15th.

I made this bag today after my mom left me a bag for hairtools to use as a pattern. I thought to myself, I could probably make that better. I made it a little larger and more structured by using Insul Fleece in case I throw my hot tools in there while they’re still toasty 🫣😂 maybe I’ll make a little pattern for this bag! Fabric is vintage Hoffman I believe, thread is Sewology! I used 1” nylon webbing for the strap. #quilter #quilting #sew #sewersofinstagram #quiltedbag

Nearly 50 years of Ocean Institute, woven into one design✨

As Ocean Institute approaches its 50th anniversary in 2027, we are proud to commemorate nearly five decades of education, exploration, and connection to the ocean through a special collaboration with Hoffman California Fabrics👕

Created exclusively for Ocean Institute, this custom aloha shirt tells the story of the place we have called home for generations. The Hoffman team visited our waterfront campus to photograph the animals, vessels, and landmarks that have become part of Ocean Institute’s history. Longtime Hoffman artist Hue Nguyen then transformed those images into an original pattern featuring the historic Spirit of Dana Point, R/V Sea Explorer, local marine life, and recognizable elements from throughout our campus.

The collaboration brings together two organizations with deep ties to Southern California’s coastal culture. The finished design honors Ocean Institute’s past while celebrating the people, programs, vessels, and marine life that continue to shape our story today.

For nearly 50 years, Ocean Institute has used the ocean as our classroom to inspire students, families, and visitors to understand and care for the world around them. This shirt represents that legacy and the generations who have helped make it possible.

Our limited-edition custom Hoffman aloha shirts are now available in the Ocean Institute Gift Shop, with sales going towards supporting Ocean Institute’s nonprofit mission to inspire the next generation of ocean stewards.

Wear a piece of our history and help carry our mission into the next 50 years✨

I had this picture set pop up on my I phone today of my Friend Walter Hoffman it made me Happy 😆
I had my best surf trips of my life Going to mainland Mexico and the east cape of Cabo San Lucas when nothing was there . Walter was surf spot pioneer some how where ever he and his friends and brother would travel to became very popular Surf destinations I was stoked. To part of golden years of pioneering along with his life time surf posse . They blew me away at the energy and capabilities that had in thier late 60s thru late 80s . Truly inspiring and informative on their dinner stories over dinner at night . Walters family is so amazing all super creative and deep into the surf culture and true innovators just like Walter and his brother Flippy .
Your inspiration will always inspire me .
Keep riding the point breaks of heaven 🌊🤙🏽✨☀️🙏🏽✨😇😎
