This week, we spoke to Irish designer Holly Bell, who uses circular fashion to create hyper texture in her work.

Holly detailed the origins of her fashion journey, her sustainability efforts and her favourite design to date.

"Circles have become important in my designs as they represent the need for circular systems in the fashion industry. This system replaces the traditional "take-make-dispose" linear model with a restorative lifecycle designed to eliminate waste by keeping materials in circulation, hence why I use circles!

"I use circular hardware such as second hand buttons and old curtain rings to manipulate fabric which creates hyper texture. This texture is another important aim for me when designing as it adds tactile elements that supports the wearer by providing sensory calmness.

"The technique I use is very versatile, when I drape manipulated fabric I find there are endless possibilities of what it can become. It’s this point in my design process where I feel most creative."
