I had the honor of hosting an event at my home with @meditationbob and @adamlippes to raise awareness and funds for @davidlynchfoundationtmc Women’s Health Initiative. There is such a low retention rate for nurses due to PTSD, anxiety and burn out. Transcendental Meditation is being brought into hospitals and taught to the nurses (for free) during working hours (so they do not have to take time off.) The hospitals have witnessed exponential results and nurses report feeling less anxious, burnt out and are able to do their job in a more peaceful manner. The initiative is also bringing TM to college campus’s. The anxiety, depression and suicide rate is at an all time high for 18-25 year olds. What they’re doing is making TM accessible and cool for college students and it’s also being taught for free! I have been doing TM for close to 15 years. Bob was my mentor and taught me the incredible practice during a truly troubling time in my life. I know first hand the profound healing powers of TM. To say TM saved me from myself would be an understatement. TM is like the ocean - the surface might be turbulent but right underneath it is always calm. During the event @meditationbob lead 50 people through a guided meditation and to say it was one of the most blissful, peaceful, calm and beautiful experiences would be an understatement. You could hear a pin drop it was magical!! I This is what TM does, it allows one to dive into their inner ocean where there is always peace and calm. To raise funds for this initiative - we had the incredibly talented @adamlippes take over my dining room and transform it into the most gorgeous showcase of his exceptional clothes and accessories. He so generously donated a portion of the proceeds and everyone went wild for his creations. The sales exceeded all our expectations and I thank my incredibly supportive and generous friends. I do not take it lightly or for granted that you showed up and supported a cause that means so much to me. I am beyond grateful!
