THE IMAGINARY HOTEL | UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

For seven days, the historic Chiostri a Carbonara in Naples became home to a hotel that had existed in our imagination long before opening its doors.

A place filled with design, art, beautiful objects, books, conversations, shared tables, unexpected encounters and the wonderful people who brought it all to life.

What began as an idea became a living collection of stories, creativity and friendships.

To every artist, designer, artisan, creative partner, collaborator and guest who became part of this adventure, thank you for believing in our imaginary world.

The doors may have closed, but the stories, connections and memories will travel with us.

And perhaps that is the most beautiful thing about an imaginary hotel. It can exist wherever our imagination takes us next.

FROM GUESTS TO FRIENDS.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Libia and Antonio chose to celebrate their wedding in a place that could not have felt more like them: Libia’s grandmother’s home.

A house filled with memories, childhood summers, and family stories. Surrounding it, a beautiful garden and vegetable patch became part of the setting for their day, naturally woven into the table styling with a rare kind of simplicity.

And then there was her — a bride among the vegetables, bathed in afternoon light, surrounded by everything that place holds dear.

Because really, when will I ever get the chance to photograph a bride in a vegetable garden again?

This is also why I love photographing weddings: for those unexpected, unrepeatable details that belong to one story alone and could never be recreated anywhere else.

The craftsmanship, artistry, skill, and fashion that come out of Naples are overlooked when the world thinks of Italian craftsmanship, fashion, and Made in Italy. Many visitors turn their eyes toward the fashion “capital” of Milan or Renaissance Florence for artisanal shops, but Naples deserves to be much higher on the list.

Sharing of my favorite artisan shops and makers in my favorite and adopted city. Link In bio for full story over on @substack 🧵🌊
