Its almost Fall 🍂🍁🍂🍁Cooler weather and Fall colors are around the corner. Here are some of my favorite Fall captures from last season on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’m hoping to get out and canoe on this lake during the peak of Fall colors this season 🙌

"Septemberings," Neuse River Trail, Raleigh, NC, 9/7/26

Looking a little more September-y out here in the Piedmont (even if most those leaves are a mix of crispy and/or drenched in flattering golden-hour light instead of changing hue.)

It's the VIBE more than anything else! 🍂

Happy Sunday Instagram! It’s been a bit since I’ve posted. But I’m still here! There’s been a lot going on the last few weeks or so and I just needed to take a step back and take a little break from social media. I was going through some photos this morning and I just had to revisit theses shots from one of the most incredible sunrises I’ve ever seen. 🌅

🌳✨ Tree Tuesday

“Worth the Wait”

For nearly a year, this image existed only in my imagination.

Last July, while scouting along the Blue Ridge Parkway, I visited Doughton park and loved these two trees standing among the boulders. I immediately pictured the Milky Way stretching overhead. When the nighttime finally arrived, clouds had other plans. 😢

A year later, I returned and found the sky I’d been hoping for.🌟

Photography often teaches patience. Sometimes the image comes quickly. Sometimes it takes a year, a second visit, and a little grace from the weather.

Moments like this remind me that some things are worth waiting for.

It’s been too long since I’ve hiked to a fire tower, so it was great to check this one off my list.

SKATEBOARDING HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FREEDOM MOVEMENT.

NOT POLITICAL IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE, BUT PHYSICAL FREEDOM.

THE FREEDOM TO MOVE THROUGH A CITY DIFFERENTLY.

TO CREATE YOUR OWN PATH.

TO TRANSFORM THE ORDINARY INTO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL.

"Green Sleeves," Blue Ridge Mountains from the Black Balsam Knob Trail, Western NC, 5/29/26

#blueridgemountains #mountains #appalachia #northcarolina #takeahike

As a Pacific Northwesterner (and a woman who was on antibiotics to kick Lyme disease in May) I can tell you: overcast days and lower temps are IDEAL for hiking!

And I'm being serious about those tick checks! We had no issues in the mountains of Western NC (the tick that got me was in North-central NC), but still: if you're outdoors, do a thorough check, then do another, then have a shower, then have another. 👀
