July felt like forever. But at the same time, I noticed so many people checking in on my progress and supporting me. Little things like bringing me boiled eggs (🫶🏻 @itstimtan ), scheduling catch-ups, and like today's full-blown, zero-cal & Hong Kong-inspired care package hand-delivered by @honestly__nat 🇭🇰. Thank you. I was wrong. People do care (about what I chose to do). And this fuels me - with gratitude and love.

“There is a particular comfort that comes from being in a space where you don’t have to explain yourself before introducing yourself. Nobody was performing. Nobody was code-switching. Nobody was trying to convince anyone they belonged. They already knew they did.” Written by our founder @paulinemorrissey, our latest Diaspora Diary reflects on our event, Meet MADE IN KIN In The Lobby, where almost 100 people of colour gathered at @ellisonstudios for an evening of community, creativity and conversation. To read the full story, head to the link in our bio. 🤎

A few more moments from our event, Meet @madein_kin in The Lobby at @ellisonstudios. 🤎 Turns out, when you put people of colour who share diaspora stories in one room, a room full of strangers can start to feel a lot like a family reunion. Behind the camera, the talented @carlinandcamera, one of our own.

🎙️ Lived and Told Podcast – Episode 21: Nat 🎧 Listen now: Links to Spotify & YouTube in my bio! Guest: Natalie (Nat) @honestly__nat Natalie is a personal trainer who is helping her clients build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits through personalised coaching and evidence-based training. In this episode, we explore Nat’s journey into the fitness industry, from her background in dance to building a successful coaching brand focused on empowering women both physically and mentally. We dive into how she grew her fitness journey through content creation, social media, and her Substack community, as well as the importance of balancing training, technique, and mindset to create lasting results. We also discuss common mistakes people make when starting their fitness journey, misconceptions surrounding women’s fitness, and how Natalie helps clients navigate body image concerns, comparison culture, and the often-confusing world of fat loss and muscle gain. Beyond that, we talk about the realities of coaching, emerging trends in women’s fitness, the advice she’d give to every woman starting her fitness journey today, and much more. 🔗 Find Natalie here: @honestly__nat And subscribe to her Substack! Across our recent call-outs, we’ve been building the @madein_kin Creative Database – a growing, living list of creatives of colour across Australia – added and amplified without hierarchy. It’s something we’ll continue to amplify here, and draw on when advocating for greater inclusivity across Australian media. Here are just some to follow, share and show up for. More rounds to come! 🤎
