PERCUSSION × HYPNOTIC HOUSE What happens when hypnotic electronic rhythms meet the raw pulse of live percussion? We had a great evening at Barefoot Garden Café with Sound Creators a night of shifting rhythms, live percussion, spontaneous interaction and, of course, plenty of movement. On drums: Eto • Rachel • Ismael • Prabu • Alain On the decks: Chinthaka No fixed boundaries between DJ, musician and audience just sound, rhythm and bodies responding in real time. A big thank you to all the artists of Sound Creators for bringing the energy, to Barefoot Garden Café for hosting us, and to everyone who came, listened, danced and became part of the evening. Until the next rhythm… #electronicmusic #drumming #jamming

Workshop 02 of the Hyacinthesis Accelerator took design thinking into the spotlight 🎨🌱 In collaboration with the City School of Architecture (CSA), the session brought together the artisans of Cohort 01, with deep expertise in their craft, and Foundation-Level CSA students with fresh ideas, creating a collaborative space where traditional craftsmanship met new ways of creative thinking. Through a series of hands-on activities and discussions, participants explored the fundamentals of design while challenging themselves to see familiar materials, forms, and processes differently, sparking conversations around innovation and the future potential of Water Hyacinth. 💭 How can unexpected ideas emerge from the simplest forms? 🤝 What happens when artisans and emerging designers create together? 🔍 How can texture, materiality, and experimentation shape new product possibilities? 🌿 What opportunities emerge when natural materials are viewed through a modern design lens? The session was led by multiple GLX Alumni: Hyacinthesis Program Lead Lonali Rodrigo (2020 Garage Participant + GLX Expert), CSA Year Coordinator for Studio 1 Anurangi Mendis (2020 Grants for Tourism Resilience Recipient + GLX Expert), CSA Design Tutor - Foundation Studio & Project Lead Jonathan Edward (2022 RCF Residency Participant + GLX Expert), and CSA Design Tutor Foundation Studio Kanil Dias Abeygunawardene (2024 CCF Fellow), and supported by both CSA + Hyacinthesis teams 🌟 Stay tuned for the workshops ahead, where the cohort will continue learning, experimenting, and uncovering new possibilities for transforming invasive Water Hyacinth into regenerative solutions.

Throwback to a meaningful visit from students of the City School of Architecture at CoCA Symbiosis Art Studio. It was a space filled with curiosity and exchange, where conversations around art and architecture naturally unfolded. Moments like these continue to shape and inspire the creative journeys we care deeply about. Always grateful to be part of these connections. #artwalks #artspaces #studiovisit #artandarchitecture #artconversation

Ahead of International Women’s Day, our Women In Travel Collective community came together for Members’ Day last Saturday under the theme “Women Redefining Creative Spaces in Travel.” A big thank you to Emma De Silva, CEO of @glx_hub LifeX, and Anurangi Mendis, Co-founder of @hopermarket, for sharing how they have created platforms, both digital and physical, that bring culture, creativity, and community into the way we experience travel. Their stories inspired us echoed this year’s International Women’s Day theme, Rights. Justice. Action. For All women! At WITC, action means creating opportunities. It means opening doors. It means building platforms where women can thrive and lead. That is what our community stands for.💪🏽 Grateful to @dilanka_gamage from @oceantheorysl for sharing his creative story behind our board game “ Sri Lanka Travel Quest”. We will reveal more about this project in the coming weeks! A big thank you as well to everyone who joined us including our newest members. We loved meeting you all and we are looking forward to seeing you all again at our next Members’ Day in May! Be part of the change! @vista.grph

Another wonderful visit to artist Channa Ekanayake’s home. Deep gratitude, Channa, for the generous flow of your knowledge and the quiet warmth of your kindness, leaving us with so much to gather, sit with, and reflect upon. Every visit to Channa’s space gently shifts how we look at garden spaces: not as decoration, but as living archives, of care, resistance, and coexistence. His forest garden continues to remind us that ecology is not a trend, but a daily, lived practice shaped by patience, memory, and responsibility. These conversations have re-inspired us to reignite a series of initiatives and workshops, much like those we began in 2011 to reimagine garden spaces through decolonial, ecological, and community-led perspectives. At CoCA – Symbiosis, such ways of thinking have always grown quietly alongside art-making, rooted in mind, society, and environment. Long before sustainability became a fashionable word. It is always grounding, and deeply encouraging, to encounter individuals like Channa who continue this work independently, nurturing forest-garden as acts of care, knowledge-sharing, and future-making. #channaekanayake #cocasymbiosis #comunitygradenspaces #forestgarden #gareden

NEOM — Exterior Memory Before the dust settles and the pixels fade, we wanted to share this. A fragment of the unbuilt. An exterior study from our NEOM exploration—where imagination was king and limits were meant to be broken. This is more than a concept. It's a homage to a moment of pure creativity, when we felt like architecture students again. No AI. No shortcuts. Just hand sketches, 3D models, and the wild permission to dream. We’ve dedicated a full blog post on our website to share the story, the process, and the rebellious energy behind it all. Because some ideas deserve not to be forgotten. #dxmid #NEOM #theline #unbuilt #futurearchitecture #tribute #aiFree #architecturestudio #visionaryarchitecture #designwithoutlimits #middleeastarchitecture #dxmidblog #architecturalhomage #rebeldesign
