Oh La Grande, oh Eastern Oregon Film Festival - how magic it is to return to a film festival where so many seminal memories exist and still leave feeling like this year was the best edition of the festival yet!! I can’t capture how much @eofilmfest means to me in one social media post, but it really is remarkable that after 7 years (and 2 features made) the festival still gets better each outing. Seriously, I’m glowing from it all.

First off, playing @ClydeBestStory was a worlds collide moment and having the @timbersfc connection made for a special bridge between spaces, lots of great post film conversation for Oregon audiences.

Next highlight: carpooling with my new “festie besties” Hope, Chelsea, and Cory - we talked the entire time making the 4 hour drive a breeze. What’s extra cool is Hope Chelsea & I just met 3 weeks ago at @ptfilmfest and I inadvertently convinced them to come to Eastern Oregon instead of another festival they’d been accepted to. I was elated (and relieved) they had such a great time in La Grande, not to mention the 20+ other stellar filmmakers I met, too many to list, a whole bunch of great relationships forged or deepened.

Check out the video above of @hopeshanthi dancing to @tylorandthetrainrobbers - that song is “Need it or Not” from the @breakupseasonmovie soundtrack!!

Last major highlight: @eofilmfest is back at its rightful home at the historic @lggranadatheatre which was purchased by 3 amazing locals over the summer 🥲 and it felt like the festival grew wings and took off as a result. Spirits were high, audiences were full, and there is an air of promise as this festival grows stronger each year.

2027 submissions open tomorrow, and you better believe next year is going to be a banner year, with a certain Bigfoot movie coming to town (🤫🫈). For those who take a chance and make the trek, the Grande Ronde Valley is where homespun rural ethos meets stubbornly independent cinema and the love of cinema, art, music, and community runs deep.

EOFF 2026, thanks for such an amazing year and for supporting so many great movies including @clydebeststory!

thank you @ptfilmfest and to the beautiful city and residents of Port Townsend, Washington for the support of @life.is.a.short_film! From the parade to our moms coming (lol) to meeting people all over the Pacific Northwest to the two sold out screenings to the beach walks it was so beautiful and healing to support and see artists in this setting. Thanks, christy and team for supporting indie film so thoughtfully. I barely wore make up the whole weekend even at the parties. I don’t know why, but that felt relevant to say. Traveling is good for the soul and for the artists heart. and shout out to producer and friend @hopeshanthi for showing me around your stomping grounds and being an epic travel buddy. we’ll be back xx #indiefilm #shortfilm #womeninfilm

Salute Your Shorts was easily my favorite festival I’ve ever been to and the ideal place for Break Room to end its run. Very inspired by the caliber of talent behind all these incredible shorts. Grateful to the @salute_shorts team and my long time collaborator @emilygoss650 for bringing me onto this ambitious and fulfilling project. And a special thank you to @emilysandiferphoto for these amazing portraits!
