Highland Holistic opened its doors 10 years ago today. Crazy.

Thank you to everyone who has walked through these doors. I think a lot about the words “patient” and “practice”. How a patient has to be patient for a practitioner to practice their practice. The amount I learn from everyone I work with, the sense of community created…I truly live to be your partner in working through whatever brings you in - pain, stress, digestive issues, dermatology work…all of it.

Thanks to my husband Dan @gimmerecords without whom I would never have gotten this space. He moved Gimme to 5810 N Figueroa in late 2014, and quickly won enough favor with our landlords that a few months later they offered me the space next door. It was a surprise, I didn’t know if I was ready, but decided to go for it and in the end I am so glad I did.

Thanks to our amazing group of practitioners here - most importantly @hopperacupuncture who has been at Highland Holistic since the beginning. @fertilemoonmidwiferywellness, @momoreiki , @paalma.space, we have such a special family and I am so grateful to be in the orbit of each of you. When we’re all together I truly feel like we could win this game. Someone put us in charge, please! (No wait don’t! Ha)

A decade of service, of trying to help in ways that are lasting and meaningful. I know I speak for all of us when I say that it’s been an honor, and there’s still a lot of road ahead. So much of our hearts are in Highland Holistic and we hope it shows. Thanks again, we’re here for you ☯️

Please donate herbs (powders, teas, tinctures) if you can! We need supplies for those affected by the fires. Herbs work in action my dear mentor @7songsevensong taught me the wisdom of herbal first aid and how effective it is. My heart is swelling from all the mutual aid, this is our offering to our community. ***For in person drop supplies in the box inside the clinic

I simply had the most wonderful time this past Sunday at @scribble.community for this season’s ‘Community Acupuncture for seasonal attunement’. I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to provide care alongside these amazing practitioners I so deeply respect and look up to ✿ Three people with their arms around each other in a dimly lit space with green curtains, and two large hanging wooden speakers. They are all smiling and wearing shades of black, white, and denim.
