For a very limited time, you can become a Founding Member and get an exclusive tote, a hat, and know that you're helping us get off the ground.

What color hat would you pick?

Great vibes this weekend to kick off a new era ☀️💚📚

We spent the summer working to expand into the space next door – leases and permits, ramping up inventory, and building dozens of new bookshelves in the driveway. Our inspections were approved last weekend, and after several long days and late nights our team (plus the book club gang!) somehow got everything put together in less than 7 days. So awesome… a huge thank you to everyone who pitched in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Especially you, Ms. Sue 🤗)

It’s very meaningful to see this become real. Exactly one year ago, we were selling books from a tent in the parking lot because our building had taken on extensive damage from a fire. We’re glad we decided to rebuild from scratch and we’re so happy to see this neighborhood bookstore continue to grow. Thanks for your support – and cheers to many more weekends filled with sunshine, friends, and a stack of good books.

Go vote! It feels like voting is one of the only things we can do right now to use our voices, so go do it!

@justin.wieners and I entered into the Johnson County I voted sticker contest in the 18+ category, and let’s just say one of us won, and the other did not. (Congrats Justin 🫪)

Here is my entry, turned into a coaster because it felt right. #GoVote #jocoks #primaryelection

In resistance, when I voted I chose the #buffeagle sticker made by a local 11-14 year old.

Here, Justin’s wife Kate is pointing out the obvious winner. (Not knowing it was mine 😎)

All of the entries looked amazing! I had so much fun participating 🗳️🎉

Double Dog Review!!

This week’s lineup proves that size isn’t everything…

Dog #1: coming in at 5.3 inches, this one goes for quality over quantity. A chorizo sausage with melty cheddar, onion jalepeno relish, creamy cilantro-lime aioli, and a punch of hot sauce. Every bite is savory, cheesy, spicy, and you get the fried cheese tortilla as your bun.

Dog #2: Stretching outside of our ruler limit, this chicken apple sausage brings a totally different vibe. Sweet apple chicken sausage, tangy mustard, sweet strawberry jam , and crunchy candied nuts make it the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and nutty all on a soft pillowy bun.

Official Ruler Report:
•Chorizo Rojo : 5.3
• Chicken Apple Dog: 7…?
We respect both games.

Overall Rating: 12/10 🌭 — Proof that sometimes the shortest dog has the biggest personality, but we’ll never stop measuring.

🌭 Dog of the Day 🌭

Official Ruler Report: Clocking in at roughly 4.5 inches. Not the longest dog we’ve measured, but what it lacks in length, it more than makes up for in width.

This homemade hot dog brings a beautifully blistered casing, smoky flavor, and enough girth to earn everyone’s respect. The ruler may raise questions, but one bite answers them all.

Final Rating: 10/10 🌭
