Calling all pilgrims to be part of the fifth edition of Le Pilgrimage Gravel. 7–12 July 2027 5 years · édition anniversaire We’re returning to Puy-Saint-Vincent for another journey through the French and Italian Alps. Three stages, four gravel days, one overnighter, around 450 kilometres and 10,000 metres of climbing. Once again @hotelsaintroch will be our mountain basecamp in the Hautes-Alpes. A place to return to after a long day out in the mountains. Chef Anne and her team will take care of us around the pilgrims’ table, with the best food and plenty of stories from the trails. 50 pilgrims. One shared journey. Le Pilgrimage is a journey shaped by mountains, food, people and the stories. It starts with strangers arriving one by one. As the days unfold, the landscapes change, new valleys open up and one horizon slowly gives way to the next. There is always that curiosity to keep going. An overnight excursion from France to Italy and back. From my base at @hotelsaintroch I rode over a pass to Bardonnecchia where I had a fabulous pizza and an early night. The following morning I rode the most incredible climb up one of the highest gravel roads in Europe, Colle Sommeiller, with the guys and gals of @lepilgrimage. Now, I know I get excited about bikes and mountains and stuff a LOT and often describe things as ‘amazing’ but this…. Well, WOW! The gravel road up was made even more beautiful by the clouds and shifting skies, Alpine cattle grazed along the route and I just felt so lucky to be there. At the summit, just shy of 3000m, I ditched the bike and went for a wander, ate some cheese at the refuge and prepared myself for a fun descent. Look out for the video dropping soon!

3, 2, 1, allez, allez! Le Pilgrimage 2026 is underway. As tradition has it, we stayed close to home for Stage 1, following the trails of the Pays des Écrins. First along the Durance. Then climbing via Réotier towards Cabane de Tramouillon. The first stamp was waiting there, in the alpine meadows around the old shepherd’s hut. Hungry riders took a seat around the table for cheese fondue. Some simply couldn’t resist pairing the fromage with a glass of Savoie wine. From there, the journey continued through the Vallée de Freissinières before finishing with our climb de la maison: Col de la Pousterle, the backdoor towards Puy Saint Vincent and reach our own beautiful valley. A first day full of everything we could wish for. Shared trails. Shared food. Shared stories. À demain, pilgrims. After the @torinonicerally we visited @hotelsaintroch (known as the basecamp for @le_pilgrimage ) before riding back home. We asked Simon @rosmolen what he’d recommend for “dessert” after TNR. He opted stage 2 from one of the former @le_pilgrimage editions, suggesting to take our time, enjoy the route and combine it with an overnighter. It seemed another beauty of a (sometimes challenging) ride.

Une escapade gravel incroyable dans les Écrins ! 🤩⛰️ Durant l’instant d’un week-end, nous étions du côté de Puy Saint Vincent avec l’équipe @massacan_cc à l’hôtel @hotelsaintroch et, franchement, l’organisation était tout simplement parfaite. 🙌 Entre les paysages époustouflants des Alpes, les singles techniques en forêt et les sessions de pilotage on s’est régalés ! 🚵‍♂️💨 L’ambiance au top sur le vélo et au bar après les sorties et lors de nos échanges passionnés entre cyclistes ont rendu cette expérience inoubliable.
