ORDER NOW: The ChristCo Cross Home Crucifixion Kit (2025) “The urge to crucify can strike at any time. Yet research shows most Americans are woefully unprepared.”
🔨
So begins this ancient TV spot for ChristCo Cross, the largest and most well-known crucifixion kit manufacturer back during the home crucifixion boom of the late 90s and 2000s. Don’t go looking for any remnant of the company online. All record of its existence has been scrubbed. This is their only surviving infomercial. Folks of a certain age will probably remember seeing it on cable.
🔨
Okay, fine. I’m playing.
🔨
I directed this short in 2008 from a script I’d written at age 11 or 12.
🔨
My good friend @mrlemmycaution (aka @houseofcaution) produced it.
🔨
Getting it made was tricky because no one would let us film it in their yard. I can’t remember why. We also had a hard time finding a kid. I can’t remember why.
+
A ton of brave friends, crew members and professional actors ultimately made it happen.
🔨
I found the file a couple days ago and thought you might be interested.

EDIT: I want to see some of your Halloween vinyl selections so I’m tagging some folks in here. And if you see this & want to play along - go for it.

80s Trash Horror Madness with DJs featuring Hack-O-Lantern | 10/23 | 7:30pm

Hack-O-Lantern (1988) w/ Guest DJs Lemmy Caution and Mike Trombley
The story of a boy and his Satan worshiping grandfather, Hack-O-Lantern is like nothing you’ve ever seen. We promise. This underseen gem is a hilarious and sleazy combo of slasher, satanic panic and southern gothic that feels like it was beamed in from a distant, alien world. Before and after the movie, DJs Lemmy Caution and Mike Trombley will spin horror soundtracks and other perfect Shocktober jams.

Tickets available at thefilmlab.org!
