As Toronto's largest year-round farmers market, the Evergreen Brick Works Saturday Market has been the ultimate weekend food destination since 2007! Expect an incredible lineup of fresh, certified-organic produce, along with mouth-watering pastries and hot, diverse meals from a rotating crew of local pop-ups 🥕🥐

It's free to get in, but parking will set you back $14.76 for up to 2 hours 🚗. We pulled up around 10:45 am and managed to find a spot—thanks to the rainy weather keeping the crowds down! We only hung out for about 75 minutes, skipping the outdoor trails this time because of the weather 🌧 If you want to skip the parking lot stress altogether, definitely catch the free shuttle from Broadview Station

We tried:
👉 Alma Bakery’s $9 Pirashki: A filling, savoury Persian pastry packed with spiced ground beef and potatoes, wrapped in homemade bread and finished with saffron 🥖
👉 Murray's Farm's $14 Bacon & Egg Breakfast Sandwich: Loaded with XL Heritage fried eggs, melted cheddar, organic greens, onion jam, and chipotle mayo on a toasted brioche bun, complete with a DIY sauce bar 🍔 (get there early though—the sausage one that we wanted was already sold out by 11:45 am)
👉 Knot's $5 Honey Gorgonzola Japanese Sourdough: gentle balance of savoury and sweet featuring creamy Gorgonzola, smooth cream cheese, and a sweet honey drizzle

We also sampled the Chufa drink from House of Tigernut. Fun fact: a tigernut is actually a starchy root vegetable, not a nut! It makes for an amazing dairy-free alternative with a sweet, nutty flavor that tastes like a mix between almond and coconut 🥛

♻️ Sustainability first! Many vendors use returnable packaging to cut down on plastic waste, so remember to BYO clean containers, coffee mugs, and reusable tote bags!

6 years ago, in the middle of Covid and so much uncertainty in the world, a 25-year-old kid with no experience in food or running a business took the biggest risk of his life.

A bet on himself.

Nervous. Anxious. But driven by faith and a vision to turn an idea into something real.

There were no guarantees. Just belief, prayer, and the willingness to work through whatever came with it.

These past 6+ years have been filled with trials and tribulations. Blood, sweat, and tears. Heartbreak. Doubt. Sacrifice. And so many moments where the weight of it all felt bigger than me.

But through every high and every low, God never let go of my hand.

13 SUNS was never just about food.
It was about building something meaningful.
A place for everyone.
A place where culture, love, and purpose could live under one roof.

None of this happens alone.

I owe everything to God, to my mother who believed in me before anyone else did, and to the community that has stood behind us, supported us, and grown with us every step of the way.

What started as a dream has become something far bigger than I could have imagined.

And the most beautiful part is… we’re only getting started.

13 SUNS isn’t just a café.
It’s a story of faith, resilience, and love..

And God willing, it will continue to live on for generations to come.
