I was given the opportunity to attend the grass masterclass at @howardnurseries.
It was very interesting and I was able to learn about how to look after ornamental grasses and how they are vital to wildlife.
A lot of beautiful plants are grown here at Howards Nursery and they look lovely in the sun. ☀️

A little bit of a 'diving in at the deep end' moment at Earthly Beauty Garden Designs! 🌿

It's been exciting to receive some lovely new enquiries recently, including from people who discovered my work after seeing my Beautiful Border at BBC Gardeners' World Autumn Fair. Consultations and initial site visits are being booked in, and it's wonderful to see things gathering momentum.

I'm especially pleased that clients are keen to talk about sustainability and climate-resilient planting - creating beautiful gardens that work with nature and are better prepared for a changing climate.

Alongside these new projects, I'm working on a wildlife-friendly planting plan in Barkingside, a garden redesign in Camden, and a pro-bono team project for a sensory garden in Enfield.

And this morning I'm heading to Norfolk for a Grasses Workshop with Knoll Gardens at Howard's Nursery. Always more to learn, explore and bring into my designs.

It definitely feels like I've dived in at the deep end - and I'm loving it! 🌳😊

The most perfect day for a customer open day @howardnurseries yesterday. Beautifully cared for plants followed by a chat, a cup of tea and a biscuit. 😃

Aster x frikartii providing late summer colour along with Penstemon 'Hewell Pink Bedder' giving a cottage garden touch. Achillea millefolium, yarrow, bringing native wildflowers into this urban private garden.
The lovely people whom we designed for, wanted to bring pollinators and insects into a garden which was initially amenity grass.

Behind the scenes at one of the UK's largest wholesale perennial nurseries.

Today I had the opportunity to visit @howardnurseries on the Suffolk/Norfolk border and see first-hand where thousands of perennial plants are grown before making their way into gardens across the UK.

From a tractor-trailer tour through vast fields of bare-root perennials to seeing the scale of production behind the scenes, it was a fascinating day and a reminder of the skill and expertise behind every plant.

One of the highlights was learning more about bare-root perennials. Lifted directly from the field during dormancy, they require fewer resources, use no plastic pots and often establish exceptionally well once planted — making them a more sustainable choice.

It was also lovely to meet Christine Howard and the wider team. Thank you for such a warm welcome and an inspiring visit.

As a garden designer, it's always valuable to see where the plants I specify come from. Safe to say I'll be using Howard Nurseries in future planting schemes.

Have you ever seen a perennial nursery on this scale?

Thank goodness for a fantastic local wholesale nursery @howardnurseries! The hot weather means that some of the plants we had ready for RHS Sandringham flowered about a month early and no amount of deadheading and feeding would make them flower again. So we ordered some extra plants and picked them up on Friday. The lovely staff at Howard put in a special request with the picking team to ensure they would be looking their best for next week. Here’s hoping!
