Wolves were supposed to need federal protection until they recovered.

So... did they?

Minnesota’s goal: 1,251–1,400 wolves. Last count: 2,294.

Wisconsin + Michigan’s goal: 100. Today: nearly 2,000.

Montana and Idaho: over 1,000 each.

If wolves hit the target WE set, who should manage them now?

Sportsmen across Colorado are united behind one goal: supporting our wildlife and making sure it is managed the right way.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has biologists studying and monitoring every species in the state, and CPW does a better job of managing wildlife than probably any other state in the country. Hunters and anglers love wildlife. Many of us have spent most of our lives protecting it, and we want to keep it managed properly for generations to come.
That is why CWEPA has endorsed Amendment 83. The wildlife professionals who work closest to Colorado’s fish and wildlife recognize how important this protection is for CPW. Amendment 83 keeps wildlife decisions in the hands of trained biologists and the science they rely on, not ballot box politics, while preserving CPW’s authority to regulate hunting and fishing for conservation, public safety, and future opportunity.

Amendment 83 puts the right to hunt and fish in the Colorado Constitution and protects science-based wildlife management for future generations. Whether you hunt, fish, watch wildlife, or simply call Colorado home, this is about protecting the system that has made Colorado’s wildlife thrive.
Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management supports Amendment 83. Vote YES on 83 this November.

I have been receiving some unpleasant messages, and comments on here that have shown me something I haven’t seen since 2024… The anti hunting industry is nervous about losing. In Colorado and beyond, the anti hunting industry is being exposed as the fraudulent, corrupt industry that has done nothing of significance for wildlife conservation. I use the term “conservation” loosely when referring to them because conservation isn’t they want. People like Wildlife for All, Center for Biological Diversity, Animal Wellness Action have been manipulating untold numbers of people while abusing the EAJA to make themselves quite a good living. Why do we mention this? Because Amendment 83 puts an obstacle to their advancements and attempts to wrest control over our wildlife Colorado. I’m saying this as as Coloradan, not merely an outdoorsman; Amendment 83 is going to be the best thing for wildlife conservation in Colorado in many decades. Do what’s right, Vote Yes on Amendment 83! And if you don’t live here, spread the message, make a video or a picture or whatever and show your support for the Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish in Colorado
