This week in Galway, the rain 🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️ was pretty miserable and I got drenched more than once 😖
But despite the inclement weather, Dublin singer songwriter Sorcha Richardson provided a little sunshine with her album launch performance for 'Draw The Outline' and with a great chat in the Flirt FM studios. That interview will be available on @mixcloud this week.

Show #75 goes out Monday at 8pm on @flirtfm and will feature Irish artists including another solo single from Cathal MacGabhann from the awesome Cork based band The Altered Hours 💚, they have some upcoming tour dates to look out for. Also, from Cork is Flywheel who have another great single. From Dublin artist Last Apollo (a.k.a. Lucy Rice) recently released 'I’ll Walk Towards You' that I just came across and Weird Haircut is a fresh start for Dublin duo, Collin Boylan & Barry Bracken who previously played together in the Irish indie-rock band Bouts. There's another slowcore gem from Belfast's how r u.

Canadian indie includes the Canadian quartet Kiwi Jr from their fourth album, while from the US is indie trio from the mountains of Northern Arizona The Sways, Wednesday, Tommy Oeffling who is based in Wisconsin, indie folk from the heart of Bozeman, Montana with Buffalo Traffic Jam and Nashville based singer/songwriter Angela Autumn.

There's also shoegaze from the U.K with Sennen, South London based band Bleach Lab, Welsh indie rock with The Tubs, jangle indie rock from Sydney-based duo Salarymen and indie rock from Dutch band Personal Trainer

Lots to dig into, if you are interested in music worth discovering!

Foggy Notions presents

how r u

how r u is the solo project of Irish songwriter, producer and instrumentalist Thom Southern who resides in Bangor on the North Coast Of Ireland just outside Belfast. Blending slowcore, ambient music, lo-fi indie and alternative folk, how r u creates intimate, introspective music that exists somewhere between a bedroom recording and an expansive soundscape.

Influenced by artists including Duster, Elliott Smith, Sparklehorse, Neil Young, Brian Eno and Alex G, Thom channels a slow and atmospheric dimension of his songwriting and production through how r u. Built around delicate guitar, understated vocals, hazy textures and emotionally direct songwriting, the project explores the quieter parts of being human – loneliness, nostalgia, grief, healing and the strange feeling of trying to find yourself again. There is a softness at the centre of the music, but beneath it sits a deep emotional weight; songs often feel less like traditional narratives and more like fleeting thoughts, memories or moments caught in time.

In just over two years since the projects launch how r u has amassed over 10 million streams worldwide, with hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners across streaming platforms and a growing international audience across the US, Mexico, Asia, Australia and beyond.

Following the breakout success of “need some rest” (over 3 million worldwide streams) and a steady run of slowcore singles and projects, the new single ‘i’m the lucky one’ marks a new chapter for how r u – expanding the project into richly layered full band production self-produced at Black Bay Studio on the Isle Of Lewis, Scotland. This new single is accompanied by a music video shot in Tokyo, Japan.
