Now that the news of Baby Block is out in the world, I feel we need to shout out the incomparable Dr. Molly Quinn and the whole staff at HRC Pasadena. They fully supported us in our first steps to becoming parents and we truly could not have asked for a better care team! I’m officially ONE WEEK OUT from surgery and I couldn’t be more excited!🎉💃🏻

FINALLY just 1 week out from my…
(here it comes, it’s a mouthful😆)
“robotic assisted laparoscopic bilateral ovarian cystectomy, myomectomy, excision of endometriosis, chromopertubation, possible appendectomy, hysteroscopy with myomectomy/polypectomy, cystoscopy”

Safe to say my surgeon will be doing a total housecleaning in there! 🤣🧹✨

Reviewed the findings from my MRI with my surgeon and talked through the surgical plan. There’s a lot going on in there…🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Pre-op clearance is also officially done. 🎉

From the 3 rounds of IVF we started, we were able to complete 2 egg retrievals. We got a total of 5 embryos from these cycles and ended up with just 1 normal one.

Going into this surgery with just 1 little embaby on ice is a little nerve-wracking. My AMH will drop even lower and I’ll probably lose more follicles because of the cystectomies (we’ll be removing 3 dermoid cysts - one on the right and two on the left - 7cm, 6.5cm and 5cm).
But Dr. Siedhoff believes my ovaries can be saved and is going to fully reconstruct the ovarian tissue.

I know it’s a risk, but we’re going into this with a lot of hope.☺️
I’m praying that once everything is completely cleaned out and healed up, there will be a chance for us to conceive naturally. We are holding onto our one strong little fighter, but keeping our hearts open for miracles.✨

I’ve been reflecting a lot recently on my journey navigating infertility, loss, and IVF, as we come up on the third anniversary of my miscarriage…before we had Holiday, our rainbow baby. 🌈 My mind drifts often to the moms, or future parents, who are currently on this journey, and while it looks different for everyone, and I know not everyone gets their happy ending, but I really hope you do. 🙏 I want to say that I’m thinking of you and sending you so much love. ❤️ My DMs are always open for questions, or advice, especially if this is you right now. I know how lonely it can feel. 🫂💉🫶🏼

My baby + my sister’s body = a new chance 🤞

While infertility has been so difficult to go through, it’s such a blessing to be able to experience things like this we would never be able to see otherwise - Seeing our baby at this microscopic level (!!!), having a doctor (@katherine.mcdaniel.md) who couldn’t be more kind and supportive through it all and having a sister (@briethepilotswife) willing to give up her time, body and life for the next year for a chance to meet our baby one day.
