🐾❤️ A little shelter happiness for your day! ❤️🐾

If you need a reason to smile today, I’ve got about 3 minutes and 14 seconds of them! 🥰

Wiggly butts, goofy personalities, happy tails, big smiles, and SO much love!

These amazing dogs may be waiting for their forever homes, but they haven’t stopped enjoying the little things. A walk, a treat, a toy, a belly rub, or simply having someone spend a little time with them can make their whole day. ❤️

And that’s what I love most about spending time with shelter dogs. Despite everything, their tails are still wagging, their personalities are still shining, and their hearts are still wide open. 🥹

They don’t know when their person is coming. They just keep hoping that one day, someone will choose them. 🏡❤️

Until then, we’ll keep showing up, handing out treats, sharing cuddles, and reminding them just how special they are.

A few hours of my day. The highlight of theirs. And honestly, the highlight of mine, too. 🐶💕

🐾❤️ WANT TO MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER? GO VOLUNTEER AT AN ANIMAL SHELTER! ❤️🐾

Seriously. It might just be one of the best things you ever do.

There is something incredibly special about spending time with shelter dogs. The wagging tails, the sloppy kisses, the silly personalities, the little victories, and the pure joy of watching a dog who spends most of their day in a kennel get to run, play, sniff, and just be a DOG. 🥹

You walk into the shelter thinking you’re going to make THEIR day better.

And somehow, they end up making YOURS better, too. ❤️

Not every moment is easy. Some days are heartbreaking. Some dogs are scared, some are overlooked, and some have been waiting far too long for someone to choose them.

But every walk matters. Every belly rub matters. Every moment of kindness matters.

And I promise you, the love you get back is immeasurable. 🐶💕

Here’s a little glimpse into my volunteer shift at the Humane Society of Broward County!

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering at your local shelter, THIS IS YOUR SIGN!

You don’t have to adopt a dog to change a dog’s life.

Sometimes all it takes is showing up. ❤️🐾

🌼 DAFFODIL. A little girl with an extraordinary spirit. 💛

At just 2 years old, Daffodil has already experienced abandonment, uncertainty, and more than any dog deserves.

She was found tied to a tree. 💔

A wonderful Good Samaritan brought her home and spent three weeks nursing her back to health, showering her with love, and desperately searching for someone to give her a forever home.

When that didn’t happen, Daffodil came to @humanebroward.

And what a remarkable little girl she is! 🥹

Her back legs are bent, almost like little frog legs. We don’t know why. But here’s what we DO know…

🌼 She LOVES people.
🌼 She LOVES toys and playing fetch.
🌼 She’s a lap dog and a professional kiss giver.
🌼 She’s happy, playful, affectionate, and incredibly resilient.

Daffodil doesn’t dwell on her past. She’s too busy enjoying every moment of life.

We are forever grateful to the beautiful soul who rescued her and helped her learn to trust and love.

Now it’s time for someone to give Daffodil what she’s always deserved. A family. A home. A lifetime of love.

She may be a little different on the outside, but her heart is absolutely perfect. 💛

🐾❤️ COME VOLUNTEER WITH ME! ❤️🐾

Just another day doing something I absolutely LOVE at the Humane Society of Broward County! 🥰

So many beautiful faces, wagging tails, sloppy kisses, and sweet souls just waiting for someone to notice them.

For these dogs, a little time outside their kennels, some fresh air, a walk, a treat, or simply having someone sit beside them can mean EVERYTHING. ❤️

And here’s my little reminder that you don’t have to adopt a dog to make a difference in their life.

🐾 Visit your local shelter.
❤️ Volunteer your time.
🏡 Foster if you can.
🐶 Adopt when you’re ready.
📣 Share the animals waiting for homes.

Every shelter has animals who deserve to be seen, loved, and given a chance.

You may only be a small part of their day, but you can make a BIG difference in their lives. ❤️

💔 WHEN THE SHELTER BECOMES THE ONLY PLACE A DOG FEELS SAFE.

Meet Myko. 🐾

Two years old. Two shelters. And a little boy who has become so fearful of the world outside his kennel.

Myko lost his home in June when his family lost theirs. Since then, the Humane Society of Broward County has become his world.

Today, I wanted to give him a beautiful day out. A chance to run, sniff, explore, and just be a dog.

But Myko was scared. 💔

And instead of pushing him, we listened.

We left the Sniffspot early, went for a drive, enjoyed a little treat, and let him nap peacefully in the car.

When we returned to the shelter, he couldn’t get back to his kennel fast enough.

That is the part that broke my heart.

We don’t know what Myko has experienced or why the outside world frightens him so much.

But we DO know that he deserves a patient, loving family who will help him build confidence, one tiny step at a time.

Perhaps a confident canine sibling could help him, too, with a proper dog introduction first.

Myko doesn’t need someone to change him overnight.

He needs someone willing to love him while he learns that he’s safe.

📍 Humane Society of Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Please SHARE Myko. Somewhere out there is the person who can show this beautiful, soulful-eyed boy what it truly means to be home. ❤️🐾

👑 Meet Hatty. 🐾

My name was Mary Poppins when I was at the shelter. I was there for nearly 130 days. They said I was their longest resident at the time. My mom said it was clear that they loved me SO much at @humanebroward . Everyone there was so excited for me…I didn’t know it at the time but I was going HOME 🏡

With my new start, my mom said she wanted to give me a new name that felt like MINE!

I was one of Benny’s Buddies (@sbennett_93 is a pretty cool guy 😎 I got to meet him!) and my mom is a big hockey fan 🏒 So she called me HATTY (my mom said it’s short for ‘hat trick’ …this thing in hockey when a player scores 3 goals in one game…I guess it’s kind of a big deal-just like me 😊!!)

Then my mom did a little more digging into the name…
She found out that Hatty traditionally means “ruler of the home.” 👑🏡

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

I went from waiting for a home for a LONG TIME…

to ruling MY Home! 😂👑

The couch? mine.
The blankets? mine.
The backyard? mine.
All the treats? mine.

Welcome to the House of Hatty. 🐾🏡👑

🖤 NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY 🖤

And we can’t think of a better boy to celebrate than BART! 🐾

Four-year-old Bart spent his rainy day OUT of the shelter — strolling through the Galleria Mall like a perfect gentleman, making friends with adults and kids, and stopping at PetSmart where he found possibly the greatest thing ever… his GREMLIN HOODIE. 😂

Bart is smart, athletic, playful, ridiculously food motivated and the BIGGEST lover boy. He knows sit, down, paw and more, loves his stuffy toys, and has one seriously squishy, kissable face. 🥹

But Bart has already been through a lot. He was given up when his family no longer had room for him, and shortly after arriving at the shelter, he became very sick with an upper respiratory infection and spent weeks in the clinic.

Now he’s healthy. He’s happy. And he’s ready to go HOME. ❤️

🐶 Bart also loves other dogs, but as always, a meet-and-greet is recommended.

🍂 AND TOMORROW NIGHT IS HIS BIG CHANCE!

The Humane Society of Broward County is holding a special Fall Mixer tomorrow, October 2 from 6–8 PM! Dogs who have been waiting 30+ days, including Bart, will have their ADOPTION FEES WAIVED!

Maybe Bart’s forever family will walk through those doors tomorrow night. 🥹🖤

Please SHARE him. On National Black Dog Day, let’s help make sure this beautiful black dog is SEEN.
