The prompt for this project was simple - what if thirst traps took work to view instead of being so easily accessible.

We have easier access to images than ever before in human history, especially revealing imagery. I wanted to experiment with the user needing to “decode” the image by putting in some kind of labor. A kind of metaphorical paywall. In this case, hovering over each pixel subdivides that pixel further and further until the image becomes clearer. Only the most determined user gets the reward.

Link in bio :) mobile AND desktop !! Wow !!! Good job Mari!!

I’ve also always loved this aphex twin cover and it went perfectly with this project lol.

Made using paper.js ~

POV: Your cat is your muse and you’re obsessed with him 🌙🖤🐈‍⬛

I was recently super inspired by @ameyasrealm and her mixed media film about her cat! <3

Cheech was being so cute, so I took stills from a video of him being cute, printed them on my thermal printer, added acrylic paint to the prints, then scanned them into photoshop and creating this simple frame animation.

Our next featured cabaret performer is Mari (who made the amazing Rachmaninoff animation you may have seen on our page last week)! She’ll be performing “Meditation” during Then & Now on Thursday, which “speaks of a sweet longing for a past time - it could be related to a person you miss who was once in your life, but it could also be a past phase in your life, a kind of nostalgia, or even a time in society when things felt more calm. The song calls on perseverance and faith to get through the present - reminiscing on the past and being hopeful for the future. Meditating on the beautiful, fond moments yet to come.” ✨

Don’t miss the chance to hear (and meditate upon) Mari’s beautiful performance on 3/19 - we hope to see you there in person or have you join us on the livestream! 💜

Japanese POLA flyer for facial + face massage service

Clever use of the kanji “顔” (kao), meaning face. The strokes in the character are extended to indicate the lifting / massage service they’re offering.
