October 9th: we head back to Bournemouth as part of this stacked lineup in support of the quietly legendary @dazzling_killmen

The Face of Collapse is an endlessly inspirational album for me (Dan). I bought the reissue some years ago from @skingraftrecords and never anticipated seeing the band live, nevermind being on support for one of their shows.

Stoked to see our pals in @human.leather and for my first time witnessing @ididid666

Thank you to Charlie at @ump_bournemouth for making this happen

Life is weird and cool if you make it. I have also attached proof that I am not a poser

🫱 HUMAN LEATHER
@human.leather
Furious two-piece of bass & drums destruction. Sitting somewhere between noise rock and sludge punk, this DIY outfit have been gracing stages and peeling skin from listeners’ faces, since May 2016. During that time gigging up & down the UK, from DIY house shows to supporting Mclusky, Big Business, Part Chimp, Viagra Boys, USA Nails and Jucifer, Human Leather have delivered their chaotic savagery to all ventures and venues seeking aural abomination.

🫱 GRUBBING
@grubbing_band
Art pop drum-bass-violin three piece grubbing (fka big pigeon) re-emerge from hibernation to engage in musings on life, digital love, cleanliness and despair. FFO: Deerhoof, gilla band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

🫱 BELLE ROYALS
@belleroyalsband
Newcastle/Bristol based two-piece noise rock outfit” FOR FANS OF: The I.L.Ys, The Fall, The Jesus Lizard

🎶 Every Saturday this August, ‘Kino Lives’ takes over with some of Bristol’s freshest and finest live acts, celebrating 2 decades of independent culture, queer joy, DIY creativity and doing things differently.

🙏 Kino has spent 22 years giving Bristol’s artists, collectives, outsiders and lovely weirdos a place to meet, make things and make noise, as well as being a vital community space in central Bristol for trans, POC and queer folk.

🫶 Kino is currently under threat of closure and we urgently need to raise funds to sustain our home on Stokes Croft and keep its doors open.

🎟️ Buying a ticket (and adding a donation if you can) supports the people onstage while helping save an essential independent space.

💪 KINO LIVES. Help keep it that way! X

Here's Albert Rosenfield, the Sultan Of Sentiment himself and patron saint of WSR to say "welcome" to the pile of new followers who have stumbled on us in the last few days.

This might be a good time to take you through some back catalogue gems, most of which are down to very small quantities in Joe's garage and can be grabbed right now on Bandcamp. The whole WSR back catalogue is available as downloads too and lots are pay-what-you-feel.

Scroll for some recommendations....

"Get a life, punk"

MYRIAD MYRIADS
"All The Hits"

The new pseudonym of Bass Clef, Myriad Myriads continues the minimalist/maximalist aesthetic of previous Bass Clef releases but with maybe a sharper editor's touch.

Organic, instinctive electronic music that can equally soundtrack a big night out or a long solo drive through snowy mountains.

FFO: Harmonia, Carl Cox, Boards Of Canada, those excellent multi-pack Dreamscape tape sets

DEEP CABARET
"Matchless"

Vinyl reissue of self-released CD that is - straight up - one of the best records ever made.

Disarmingly sincere, beautifully orchestrated and utterly free of genre shackles, "Matchless" will find a special spot in your heart if you let it.

"The results are as though the deep trance of the desert has been magically transplanted to the mudflats of Morecambe Bay"

FFO: Ali Farke Toure, Lankum, Talk Talk, Haress, Tinariwen, John Martyn

YOUNG JAMES LONG
"Orogeny"

Wild, raucous rock n roll from Preston PW Long (Mule, Reelfoot), Kirkland James (Tenderloin) and Taylor Young (Young Heart Attack) that stands up with the rawest rhythm n blues of any age or locale.

The only record we've released deserving of the term "badass".

FFO: Junior Kimbrough, The Jesus Lizard, Mule (dur), Captain Beefheart, Edgar Broughton Band, Hound Dog Taylor. Hell, if you like The White Stripes you'll love this.

(Kirkland James passed away not long after this was released. Rest in power)

JOEYFAT
"The House Of The Fat" and "The Unwilling Astronaut"

Essential UK underground works, remastered and reissued. Joeyfat influenced everyone. They did the spoken word post punk thing when him from Nottz was still playing glam metal. Even now they're something of a ridd
