Obrigada Lisboa 🥰 thank you faves @burakaofficial for inviting me to play your hometown. It means a lot to be asked to play and be so well received in a city that has inspired me so much alongside so many great artists. All I ever wanted was to do music and radio and travel the world so this is the dream. Swipe for sweaty dancers, beautiful buildings at dawn, hotel selfies and a demolished crab 🦀 International DJ consortium Casa Buraka! The dancing… oh the dancing!! People dancing with their mates and not looking at me. Also genuinely can’t remember playing this tune. We went thru a lot of genres, I built the crowd up and then we all just went with it in flow. Thank you @suzianalog for documenting this set! A fave EP of mine, I was absolutely in the zone by this point of the set. Big ups Humano and Tribilin Sound on the remix. Not captured, me teasing the hell out of the cue button on a funk tune that samples Shake Body and a couple at the front losing their minds when they realised what was coming in, and then again on the switch up when it dropped at 150bpm. Also this tune never fails! Big uppppps @xavierblk who came thru!! We were looking for each other all evening! Finally reunited outside the club at 6am 10 years after first playing on a lineup together! Back then @dotoradopro was a teenager who’d just made a viral hit. Seeing African Scream go off 10 years later in Lisbon is a memory I’ll never forget. Casa Capitão is in an amazing old factory complex on the edge of town… huge crazy buildings with amazing details like this lighted staircase that runs the whole length of the building. A very beautiful laundrette Tucked away inside this market building is an incredible record shop Brilliant to discover @flurdiscos in such an unlikely spot. Thanks @karinafreitasx and @pxmp.wav for the tip! Great chats and a demolished spider crab (sorry @pxmp.wav) @karinafreitasx “do you have a salad?” The waiter “no, we don’t do salads”. Legit. Awesome metro tiles 6am light Hotel selfie that has somehow managed to make me look a bit taller than normal. Thank you Rockit Cardiff for the vintage trackies Escuta de Angola 🇦🇴
