WEEKLY BOLT ⚡️🏹
Episode 141 || Black Box, Hume Apparel, Creative Arts Conference & Inktober continued!

I didn’t specifically mention it, but I was out of town this week to spend some time with the Hume Apparel team and the crew at @blackboxmerch!

There was lots happening during the week and it was good to get time together! And of course, taking spare moments to get a little drawing in!

And next week is Creative Arts Conference! Looking forward to that! Seeing some friends, meeting new folks, and getting creative!

I know this isn’t my personal account, but I wanted to share this because God is good, and maybe someone needs to hear this today. I hope these words encourage whoever may be reading them and remind you of God’s faithfulness.

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to go to Hume Lake for a women’s retreat, and honestly, I didn’t know exactly what God was going to do in my heart when I went. I was nervous to go alone, but looking back, I can see His grace in every part of it. He provided for me in ways I didn’t even know I needed, and He reminded me that I am never truly alone when I am walking with Him.

This weekend taught me so much about anxiety, fear, surrender, and what it really looks like to trust in the Lord with all my heart. Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Sometimes our hearts become so focused on the noise of the world, our worries, our plans, and what we think we’re supposed to be doing. But what if our heart posture was simply turned toward the Lord? What if we chose surrender over control, faith over fear, and His truth over the lies the world tells us?

As women, we are daughters of the One True King. We don’t have to strive for the world’s approval or let fear define us. We get to rest in who God says we are and boldly follow where He leads.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was hearing the testimonies of so many women — women I bunked with, women I met around a campfire, and women I may never see again but whose stories I will carry with me. Different lives, different struggles, different stories, but the same faithful God. It was such a beautiful reminder that God is constantly working in people’s lives, even in ways we may never see.

I’m also so thankful for the messages from Megan Fate Erickson and Blair Linne. They challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone, walk in faith, and be more intentional about sharing the Gospel. Sometimes God asks us to take a step before we feel ready — and this weekend reminded me that obedience doesn’t mean it all has to be fig

Yes we really did…
we really did take our entire high school up to Hume Lake to connect with God, connect with each other and create a strong foundation not just for this school year, but for life.

And you know what?
God showed up in meaningful ways, because that is exactly what God does! 👏👏

Eyes opened.
Hands raised.
Hearts softened.
Friends made.
Chains broken.
Joy renewed.
Freedom found.

It’s our prayer that these moments will continue to echo God’s goodness throughout the school year, reminding us of the incredible things that He has done!

“Oh, thank God—he’s so good!
His love never runs out.
All of you set free by God,
tell the world {tell your story}!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭107:1-2
