Visiting Malmö? Discover 16 places that helped carry a marathon of hope
A Taste of Hope — A Companion’s Guide to Malmö brings together restaurants, cafés, bakeries, ice-cream makers, cinema and seaside minigolf.

Each featured business became a Companion through A Kilometre of Hope, supporting London to Malmö – 84.4 km of Hope and the wider fundraising journey for CCLG.

This guide is my thank-you—and an invitation to visit them, taste something new and discover more of Malmö.

With special thanks to Action and Trend, the first company to believe in the project, who supplied and printed the Joma running apparel and carried KM1.

📖 Swipe through the 20-page city guide.

📌 Save this post for your next Malmö visit and share it with someone you’d like to explore with.

To every Companion: thank you for carrying your kilometre with me.

Malmö, you smashed it.

When A Kilometre of Hope began, finding a Companion for every kilometre of Malmö Marathon felt like an enormous ambition.

Today, I will stand on the start line with 39 Companions beside me.

Companies, cafés, restaurants, clubs, colleagues, friends and family have come together to turn an individual challenge into something built by an entire community.

Every Companion has contributed to CCLG – Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group, helping to support research and children, young people and families affected by cancer.

But they have also given me something that cannot be measured in kronor.

They have given every part of today’s marathon a name, a story and a reason to keep moving forward.

When the race becomes difficult, I will not simply be counting down the distance. I will be moving from one Companion to the next, knowing that every kilometre represents someone who chose to believe in this journey.

To everyone who joined, donated, shared a post, sent encouragement or helped this story reach someone new:

Thank you.

We came incredibly close to filling an entire marathon—and what Malmö has achieved is already far greater than I imagined when this began.

At 10:00 today, wearing bib number 5314, I will begin the 42.2-kilometre journey from Ribersborg.

But I will not be running it alone.

39 Companions. One city. One marathon built on kindness, community and hope.

Malmö, you smashed it.

Now it is time to run.

Nobody Needs to Walk Alone.

Some people do more than say yes—they make you feel that they truly believe in what you are trying to build.

Ibra is one of those people.

From the moment we spoke about A Kilometre of Hope, his enthusiasm was immediate, generous and wonderfully positive.

He understood that this journey is not simply about running 42.2 kilometres. It is about bringing people together, sharing something meaningful and helping children, young people and families affected by cancer.

That sense of warmth and togetherness also lies at the heart of @hummusson

For Ibra, hummus is part of a family tradition stretching back three generations. At Hummusson, people are welcomed not as customers, but as guests and friends—and offered food made with the warmth and hospitality of a family kitchen.

Hummusson is also built around care for the world beyond its doors. Its food is entirely vegan, and sustainability is central to how the restaurant operates, from its ingredients to its use of recycled and recyclable materials.

It is a place built on food, family, friendship and the belief that everyone should feel welcome.

Those values make Hummusson a beautiful addition to the community now forming around Malmö Marathon.

By kilometre 27, the easy opening stages of the race will be behind me. The challenge will be growing, and every reminder that I am not travelling alone will matter.

When I reach that kilometre on 3 October, I will think of Ibra, his extraordinary positivity and the warmth with which he chose to support this journey.

Thank you, Ibra—not only for becoming a Companion, but for believing in the project with such genuine enthusiasm.

Your encouragement means more than you may realise.

Kilometre 27 belongs to Hummusson.

Nobody Needs to Walk Alone.

Seats are filling up for our meetup on 29/9 ✨🍂
Make sure to book your spot — use the link in bio!

Here’s a little look into the process of making my own mood circle. I always set out wanting a Nordic style with clean, understated colours… but somehow, it always turns into an explosion of colour 🫟😅

We’ll prepare some affirmations for you to add to your jar, including some of my personal favourites — but there’ll be plenty of room to make it your own too 📝

I’m so excited to see your version and hopefully help you get clearer on your direction for this autumn 🍂
And hey, if you haven’t checked out @hummusson’s menu yet, go ahead and do it — it’s delicious 😋

In today’s episode, I’m down in Malmö visiting my friend Magnus Borén, who is currently an on-stage swing in Come From Away at Malmö Opera! After a great lunch at Hummusson, we crossed the street to visit a pawnshop for the first time—only to realize chunky silver necklaces were a bit over budget. Then we wrapped up with a peaceful visit to the gorgeous St. Johannes kyrka! 🎭✨
Like and follow for more! More coming in the next episode!

TRYING HALVA FOR THE FIRST TIME AT HUMMUSSON MALMÖ
Stopped by Hummusson in Malmö for a quick sweet treat, and my friend Magnus tried halva for the very first time! Safe to say he absolutely loved it. Made with sesame tahini, pistachios, and a drizzle of pomegranate syrup, this sweet bite at Malmö’s favorite plant-based spot is top tier.
