Great job to everyone that competed this weekend at the IBJJF Championship in Columbus Ohio.
This was a great event for the city and I look forward to the @ibjjf coming back again soon!

Seeing rooms like this is why we do what we do.

When multiple academies (11 different schools!) can come together, share the mats, push the pace, and leave better than they came in — that’s how you raise the skill level of an entire region.

Huge respect to everyone who showed up ready to work today.

The mission stays the same:
Build community.
Raise the standard.
Level up Southwest Ohio grappling.

Doors stay open. All teams always welcome. large group of Brazilian jiu jitsu athletes and wrestlers training at Queen City Grappling Club in Franklin Ohio during a Sunday open mat community training session

January 2023 → January 2026

Three years as a black belt.

They say black belt is the beginning, and I couldn’t agree more. These last three years have been about learning how to relax, have fun, enjoy the process, and truly understand the art while keeping the mission the same: teach Jiu-Jitsu and help people grow.

In that time, I opened 10th Planet Columbus, met incredible people, coached students from all walks of life, and watched Jiu-Jitsu change lives — including my own.

I started training in 2008, which makes this 18 years deep into a never-ending puzzle that I still fall in love with every day. The people you meet, the friendships you build, and the opportunity to teach and learn at the same time — that’s what keeps me here.

Grateful for everyone who’s been part of the journey so far, and excited to keep evolving.
Still a student. Always a coach.

Under @slickrickdaroller , proudly part of the 10th Planet system. 🖤
